Possibly because they are so incredibly dark, Jordan has the most expressive eyes. They really glint and twinkle when he’s being cheeky but when he’s serious or concentrating on what William is saying, they are like bottomless pools of black velvet.

I went for my first afternoon tea at The Shard with my fiancé and he has told me many tips but yes I agree with William. We asked for one refill on the finger sandwiches but they asked which ones we would like more of. I asked my fiancé how many refills and he just said trust me and wait. By the end of tea we were full. At high end places they always are refilling your tea quickly.

Completely agree re: restaurants. Let people know at the point of booking. Having said that - there is an explicit understanding across Melbourne's Dumpling Houses that the expectation is 'in and out' as quickly as possible when there are queues snaking up the street. You finish - you have approximately 15 minutes to digest - and you leave. If you don't leave voluntarily you will be told the table is needed. But the service is extremely efficient; the food incredible; and the prices very low.

Afternoon tea extras, even if you're not that hungry and if they offer take-home option, is great for offering to a homeless person living on the streets, I have done this on numerous occasions.
