I suggest trying them out by taking a picture of you and Rob’s hand for each contender. Does it complement or detract? What’s going to be the star - the ring or the nail polish?
@dtrick9247 күн бұрын
That is a great idea.
@jenniferw3927 күн бұрын
I think this is spot on. I am on team “wear whatever you want,” so it’s good to decide what you want most-to make your ring the star, to represent your personality in your nails, to fit in with a traditional, “classy” venue? That being said, from listening to *you* talk through each polish, you were the most positive and the least negative about the three pinky ones. You also said you want something light, ethereal, and classy. Which polish would you describe as light, ethereal, and classy?

Hear me out: regardless of what you choose for your hands, wear the Chanel on your toes. It’s gorgeous and luxury, and also has a lot of sentimental value. Plus no one will know but you two, which makes it a special thing for the both of you. Unless you have open toed shoes I guess 😅

Don't stress about this! I'd even consider wearing that beautiful red you have on! 😊 I Love the Loud and the Orly and agree about wearing the Chanel on your tootsies! Another idea is, wear your favorite color. If it happens to be bright, dark or so called obnoxious then you have plenty of time to look for a softer version! Just be happy that's all that matters! ❣️

The way you spoke about the mauve one was the most favorable and you sounded the most comfortable with it too. It's also a classic color that will complement the greenery and style well. Fwiw, I wasnt into nail polish when i got married 12 years ago but i think they were teal to match the teal and green decorations we had. I tried to look through wedding pics to see if i could even see them and... Nope. Get a picture after all this debate!

Either Orly or Loud. These are so beautifully classy and will look beautiful with a white gown, and your beautiful bouquet. These will also complement your skin tone and makeup. They look elegant and timeless as well.

Out of these I'd probably go with the LOUD Lacquer. I feel like it's the most timeless and seasonally neutral, and you'd never get sick of wearing it each year. It definitely won't steal the show or clash with the venue

Waltz of the Flowers shows personality without distracting from your ring or dress. It also says, "Spring". It also would go with mauve makeup. It also seems like it would go well with your bouquet and all the greenery.

Today is my 22nd anniversary, so keeping in mind that my wedding was so long ago that it would be old enough to drink now 😂 my old lady advice is that the beautiful thing about white dresses is that nothing clashes with them. And the beautiful thing about weddings is that everyone will be there because they love and support you and Rob. So you should pick the polish that feels most like YOU. That makes you feel happy and confident when you look at your hands while wearing it. I can’t remember what polish I wore on my wedding day. I think it was a pink shimmer from L’Oréal that they don’t make anymore.

Girl... I love the idea of Merida with all the other green pops in the venue and whatnot! It also seems very you because you love bold, obnoxious clothing, accessories, etc haha. I also love Holographic because of the sentimentality, I don't think it's too millennial lol, and it would be a common thread throughout the steps you guys took toward marriage. You could always wear another silver Holo for anniversaries? Waltz of the Flowers would go great with mauve makeup, has a strong shimmer, and still looks soft and feminine. This one might be the best of all worlds. I would also like to submit a suggestion - Luster Dust from Victorian Varnish. When you mentioned the white dress and green pops of color, that's what I thought of.

Oh, and whichever you choose, make sure to have a few backup bottles for a loved one day. They can be someone's something old, something new, something borrowed, and possibly blue.

Imo, I feel the reasons why whites, pinks, and neutrals are so popular for weddings is because you don't want anything distracting away from yourself (makeup, hair, etc..), dress, and bouquet. I also think you probably don't want your manicure clashing with your makeup. From what you showed, I'm leaning towards the Orly. But are you against white with shimmer? I feel one of the Victorian Varnish's that you reviewed in the Shimma Sweets collection would be pretty as well!

Rose-Tea Toasty will look great with the classic vibe of your bouquet, especially the hydrangeas. Don't forget to make a dedicated swatch stick of whatever you end up wearing, I keep dedicated swatches for milestone events even though I have a working set of swatch sticks already. I make the swatch the day I'm doing my mani for the event and keep it with my mementos. It's a slice in time, and I helps me not feel anxiety about using up the rest of the bottle because I have the stick that I made on the day with the same hopes/excitement/etc that I had when I was doing my actual nails. It's the next best thing to keeping that exact manicure forever.

So excited for you and your upcoming wedding! My first thought is that the Orly has that traditional feel and would look lovely in your ring photos. But there's a certain extra fancy feeling that the Fizzical A-Peele has, as well as the Waltz of the Flowers. Either one would still have enough of the neutral feel to be wedding perfect. Possibly you could use the beautiful green Zoya or the popping Le Vernis Holographic during your honeymoon or in the first days back home in your married life. Congratulations and wishing you both the very best!

When I got married, it was in December. To save money, we went with green, red, white and gold for the theme and I wore red nail polish that matched my bouquet. If I had a green that matched, I probably would have worn it instead but fun colors were difficult to find 30+ years ago. I think you said that your dress has pearls? What about a sheer white shimmer with 3D pearls? I think that would be fun but only if textured nails are not an issue for you. Good luck my dear. I hope the wedding day goes well.

I wore a light pink polish on my wedding day last year. It's a thermal by Cirque, bisou bisou, which turns to light blue. My hands mostly stay warm so it looked pink most of the time, but even when it turned blue it couldn't be seen. In photos you can't really see light pink, and also nobody noticed my nails at all! So if you want something that stands out you can be a bit bold and it won't stick out as much as you might think. Whatever polish you pick will become sentimental to you! I really enjoyed having a something blue that was a thermal nail polish, it matches my personality. So my advice is pick something that represents you and calls to you! In the end the choice you pick will be the right choice :)

My vote would be Waltz of the Flowers or Beautifully Bizarre. I think either would fit with the general vibe of the wedding and your dress, but they would still give you the fun, punchiness you’re craving. My vote is for Sybil. It definitely fits classy and traditional the most, which seems like the style your leaning towards. The Orly is nice, but your hands look more red in that picture. You've always said you hate that, but maybe it was just lighting or something else. No on Merida. I think that would only go if you had that exact color incorporated into the wedding theme. I wasn't wearing polish back when I got married, so not sure what i would have picked almost 20 years ago. It was a simple very small ceremony in the park. I wore a white sundress and daisies were my flowers. I would say bare nails fit my style.

Okay, my vote is for Beautifully Bizarre for 2 reasons 1. It was a random untried in my collection that I just happened to try to today for the very first time and 2. I think it’s a perfect wedding polish for you! It’s a really beautiful light pink with just a touch of that “ugly” green shimmer that you enjoy so much! It really is beautifully bizarre! A great choice!! Second choice: Merida. probably an odd choice but I know that Merida is one of my favorites and just a joy to look at when it my nails catch my eye. If no real “wedding colors” but lots of wedding greenery, Merida would really pop and we all know she’s a show stopper on the nails either way! 💚

I like that the polishes you are thinking about have meaning behind them. I did French mani for my wedding before I was into nail polish. I would try to match my makeup with Rose-tea toasty, or go neutral/ pink with beautifully bizarre. I see where you're going with the green, but I don't think that the Zoya would match the greenery, or your sisters dress, and I don't think it's necessary to match your nails to the greenery since it will be is own decoration. Also, it's OK to change your mind 100 times❤❤

I like Doomicorn and Rose-Tea Toasty. Both have some personality but also have an elegance to them. But my best advice is to wear something that brings you joy. If I were getting married today, I'd let my nails be my something blue, because it's my favorite nail color.
@thespookymouse7 күн бұрын
Maybe because it's almost lavender adjacent, I do like the mauve clinidah matching the makeup, but idk if your ring or jewelry will be gold,b which could match, but I don't think it's that big of a deal if the jewelry is silver. I like the VV but would take some flash photography to make sure it won't mess up any photos with the reflective glitter from a professional camera. It's a bit more demure, but I like Squidward of the 3 (but I do love the first two because I love purple and greens, they're the most fun out of all of them). But I feel like squidward may be disappointing based on how you described it. If you go the pink with blue shimmer, I would consider going a little more instense with it, like the Orly of the two is better, but I almost want more, like Midsummer Dream by Mooncat level of light pink and blue. But it so depends on your preferences on those colors. And I feel like the Holo chanel feels not right for the occasion. Maybe something like the Holo Taco barista types or pearl grey would be better if you did Holo. But I agree with maybe steering away from Holo in general unless it's super dainty. Chinchilly just feels too bland, even though it's a great neutral (I have it).

Clionadh Waltz of the Flowers is my choice. It will complement and look pretty whether you gown is white or ivory, and look nice with the ivory of your bouquet. It will complement your sister's gown too - maybe you can both wear it! It has enough color so that it feels representative of you. It has the lovely, velvety iridescence that flower petals have with just the right amount of color to look nice and not detract. If you take close-up photos of your and Rob's hands together, to show off your rings/bouquet - I think it will look lovely. It will feel like a "you" polish I think when you look at those photos later. I wouldn't go with anything too white/gray/pale pink cream - I find that boring in wedding manis. Congratulations and we can't wait to see photos of your special day!!

My love of darker colors says go for Merida, because it will pop near the bouquet and it's beautiful. If the greenery worry is too much, Waltz is my second choice because it fits in with the non-theme theme, whilst balancing being delicate and still having that shimmer. Plus the shimmer is giving an ethereal vibe, and it seems to go with how you described the dress. Beautifully Bizarre is third because it also fits the non-themed theme, just slightly more subdued in everything but the name. You'll choose something fantastic.

The orly beautifully bizarre or waltz of the flowers have my vote. Both suit your skin tone, and I think they would complement without overpowering the ring and white of the dress but still have a pop of color. I think the neutrals might be too drab as you said. Back in the day French tips were in and that’s what I did. Love your choices. The description of dress, maid of honor dress and venue makes me think the perfect color would be the Squidward polish if it had Elysian Fields shimmer. I agree with these choices too! Also, maybe pull out some greener shimmers like some "prugly" shimmers. At the end of the day though, whatever you feel your best in, is the only thing that matters.

Fizzical A Peel and Roseti Toasty are my votes. I'm a different pale than you, but do wear a good amount of white. If all the colors are too matchy the pics won't have detail. You'll need a few pops of color to give dimention for the photos.

One of the Clionadh's get my vote, but I may be biased as I am a purple lover and love a matchy match eyeshadow moment. However if you want to wear Elysian Fields, you should! My vote is for either of the Clionadh polishes! They both feel like a perfect balance between ethereal/classy and punchy/fun. The neutrals feel like you are trying to fit the wedding too much and not being yourself. Chinchilly and the Victorian varnish both feel appropriate too. Chinchilly is your polish so it’s always going to be a good choice but I understand if you feel like it’s too dark for your wedding day. Victorian varnish is neutral enough that it doesn’t feel edgy and I think it might blend with your bouquet well since it has that ivory undertone but it still pops with the shimmer.

I say Loud Sybil. Almost seems too boring for you, but I had the same reaction when I bought that set, probably in the same sale. 🤣 It's really unexpectedly lovely! I did wear a light pink for my wedding. It was many years ago, and I wasn't really into nail polish at the time, so I don't remember what shade it was beyond, probably an OPI, so that may be influencing my vote. Take it with whatever grains of salt you feel! 😉

I think Beautifully Bizarre would be an excellent wedding polish. It’s really pretty yet still has some fun to it. And the name is on brand! 😂

I am a sucker for sentimentality. I cried the second the picture of Chanel went up. You can wear it on your special day, and you don't have to wear it on anniversaries. If it's too flashy, wear it on your toes or the underside of your free edge. My other votes would be, in order: Orly, BKL, Victorian Varnish(unless the reflective is too much in pictures). Runner up is Clionadh Rose-Tea Toasty. Left field picks: Elysian Fields, BUTTER!!!!(more specifically Bubba's Butter)
