G & A has been like a part of my life for 46 years ! When we were younger , my mother would take us there for French Fries & Hot Dogs & we would always sit in the booth next to the payphone so she could make all her phone calls since we didn’t have a house phone 🙂 The chili dogs have been such a staple in my life that I pray Andy gets all the help G & A needs !
It hurts me to see Andy so sad. My mother took me there every Saturday, a piece of my heart lives in that place I love you Andy, I miss our old Highlandtown Mimi would have never let this happen :)
My Dad use to bring me there when I was a kid. It's the first time I remember having gravy on my french fries. I believe my Aunt Patti also use to waitress there too. I hope you guys get through this!
My mom worked there for 17 years there’s a plaque on the wall in remember in Betty Glass

This Restaurant is a Highlandtown staple. So many days of my childhood spent there eating Chili Cheese dogs , the best gravy fries and drinking soda with the best damn chewy ice you'll ever have. Save G&A .
For me it was always grilled cheese and mashed potatoes n gravy...

My dad took my sisters and I to G&A every Sunday after church for years. I’m praying for Andy and his family, and the continued success of the restaurant.

My Mom used to take me there when I was little, it was our special treat. When I had a son we took him there. My Mom is gone now and me and my son took his little boy. Hot dogs, gravy fries and rice pudding. A piece of my heart is there❤

If you all want to help, he doesn't really need to start a GoFundMe, i believe they take a portion of the proceeds anyway.. have him do Venmo and whomever wishes to donate can do so directly to him . You truly need to make sure all is legit, seen so many illegal GFM's out there, its sad people trying to rip people off

Mid 70s I remember standing at the counter in my new Nike running shoes. Before me, my Mom and Dad in the 50s... before them my Grandparents in the 40s since they lived on Conkling St I'm sure my Great Grandmom had stopped in back in the 30s.... she was always "up the Avenue"!! Generations of Coney Island Hot Dog love!!

Remember sitting in there with my father in the early 50's ! Chicken Croquettes were my favorite. Hotdogs were the norm if walking by !
Oh no so sad. This place has the best hotdogs. When I was a kid whenever my grandmother and I would go to Highland town to go shopping we would always stop in to grab a hotdog. I know we are going through hard times. I hope they can pull through.
My first meal there was 1950 my sisters would go there after church at Sacred Heart of Jesus it's just a down to earth place. Wishing Andy the best things will work out God bless him .
The city should be ashamed of themselves. I’m all for safety... but I’m also all for fairness. Nobody seems to raise much issue that casinos are allowed to stay open, while this place which I love may go out of business!!! Casinos are a Petri dish of germs... thousands of people intermingling with the machines. It’s a total non necessary business meant to to steal peoples money and NOT give to schools like they promised. They can stay open... because god forbid the crooks who run this state lose one penny in kickbacks or whatever back door deals they do. WHY ARE CASINOS ALLOWED TO BE OPEN!!!!!! Close them too ... BE FAIR AND ILL SHUT UP!! THIS IS A DISGRACE!!
The quality of food there has been going away long before covid, its really overpriced also. 711 has way better hotdogs imo. Actually surprised it made it this long.

I would like to say that I went there within the past year and was not happy with the prices. I know everything has gone up but the cost of a single hot dog and a order if gravy fries should not hurt your budget...bring down the prices and people will come back!!!

I agree! Everything has gone up in price and if it hasn’t, then the size of it has to truck you. This is about saving a staple of the community and you want to bitch about prices. Scroll on. Go eat your expensive processed food elsewhere.
