My Dad being an Optometrist, did this to look at my eyes. He put hard contact lenses on me at age 7 because I was nearsighted, it was amazing to see without glasses so young. I wore them to school every day! I'm now 60 yo and so I'm very familiar with this procedure.

Love it! Super brave to bring out a blacklight in a Dr's office. Haha. I have a black light to find hornworms on Tomato plants, it doubles as a booger detector and calls out the kids who wipe them on the wall!

When I was 15 I injured my eye while making jewelry.. I was hammering a piece of metal and went to put the hammer down and it hit a pair of pliers which then flew up into my eye rupturing it.. I was able to have my eye sewed back together which saved my eye.. I did lose the Irus and Lens so now my eye looks like a dilated pupil that's navy blue in color (my natural eye color is light green).. So because of this when I had my first daughter I was so paranoid about her scratching her eye that I kept mittens on her for at least the first year.. I felt bad about it but after you have an injury like I did you can literally fast forward in every situation mentally and visualize how it could result in an eye injury... Thankfully she didn't end up with any issues from wearing those mittens as long as she did.

Is that the stuff they say will turn your pee/poop orange? One of my brothers scratched his eye when we were little & I remember being at the dr with my mom when they did that test & she told my mom my brother would pee/poop orange for a little while from the stuff she used to see the scratch

Okay I’m sooo freaked out by this. My two younger sisters got in a scrap when the youngest was about 3-4, and the middle one was 4-5 and a bully. Well little sister got fed up with being bullied and tore into the bully with everything she had including a finger nail across her eye that you didn’t need doctors tools to see! I t was the first one there.🤢 that was over 50 years ago and I can still see it.
