7:00 well, you could argue the point of hiring an obscure developer is to partly bury the story in obscurity, or to make people forget Fazbear entertainment funded it rather than it being slander. maybe that's vaguely the reason for Steve's supposed memory loss thematically
@krackkokichi Жыл бұрын
ok about the locks!! while it seems nonsensical there is a perfectly logical explanation beyond "this story doesn't understand locks": it's specifically talking about the doors in this house. it's stated multiple times that the door don't fully close, so there would no way to lock them! it wasn't a statement regarding how locks typically function
@I_Pizza Жыл бұрын
To be fair to the story, I think its trying to tell us that even though Steve’s situation doesnt make much sense, he still wants it to be real. He’s willing to accept ridiculous ideas (car crash) and inconsistencies within his life to keep his new family. He felt real happiness and was willing to fall back into the lie in the end.

While the story having the doors lock from the outside seems strange, it is possible to lock some household doors from the outside. Especially in older houses, which used to have locks on every room and they'd need an individual key for each room. Though with those, the doors could be locked or unlocked from inside or outside, granted the person had the correct key. Modern doors don't tend to have that anymore, usually only the front/back doors, garage and possibly a basement/attic/cellar have separate keys, but not bedrooms, etc... I know this because I live in a very old house that has locks on every door. But our landlord painted over the locks and didn't give us keys for most of the rooms, since he didn't see the point in locking things like the bedroom or laundry room. Obviously we can lock the bathroom, but he changed that lock to a modern one that does not need a key, so only the front door requires a key lol... But my aunts old house also had locks on every door and they were all still functional. And my brother thought it'd be hilarious to lock me in the guest room when we were kids. So I have in fact been locked in a room from the outside lol. (My aunt let me out and scolded him for that, so it did not happen again after that)... Anyway sorry for the long response, just thought I'd point out that it is possible to have a door lock from the outside lol.

Something that recently came to me is If Mr Burrows was the sole person to revive Fazbear Entertainment after FNAF 6: It's stated he hated Fazbear's and only did it for profit, For a company that fizzled out after rumors of decades of murder, he supposedly didn't believe it was real and tried to debunk it just for this. Was Henry's Pizza Place really so popular the one week it lasted for? So he essentially knew about Fazbear's, didn't like it, but saw it as potential profit, despite its numerous closings due to acclaimed murder, had someone make games making light of the rumors, torture and even off this developer (assuming he was aware), supposedly more games after that, the whole vr experience publicly debunking the history while having a huge virus, (I almost question how sentient Hand Unit is) whatever Special Delivery had to entail, then comes the Pizzaplex assuming there wasn't someone before him, finally Storyteller where he stupidly dies in a tree.

I always thought that the reason they chose Steve instead of a big time game developer was because he was so unknown in comparison to others and that he's good enough for the position but if he were to "disappear" one day for unexplained reasons that not a whole lot of people would care. That's just what I was thinking when I read it cause I was wondering the same, like why not hire the best to bring your company more revenue? They might just not want a creator with a whole lot of credibility especially if they speak out against Fazbear entertainment. If that makes any sense.

It has to be that Help wanted tells us that the books are telling the same sort of story but with different events that happened from the games. Let me explain: Eleanor from Fazbear Frights is referenced in Lally's games meaning Tales is canon to Frights and Security Breach happens in the books but instead follows the Frights version of FNAF which we can safely say is not in the games. So if we really have to follow the books we should only take the books as fact and reference the events of the games, *not the points or timeline*. I have a theory that the Tales books and Security Breach games are telling the same story but in different perspectives. The Tales books are focused on the Mimic while the game is focused on Glitchtrap evolving separate from the Mimic code from HW with William's agony/spirit taking over it and trying to take over the entire program while when he failed his last ditch effort was to stop the Mimic from regaining control. This seems like common knowledge now but what I propose is that the events in Tales/Frights happened in the games but replacing the in game events with the book versions of them and don't relate to the game characters. For instance: William's agony being spread to all the Fazbear Entertainment property in the warehouse in the book version of the Mimic code spreading throughout Fazbear Entertainment then being taken over by Glitchtrap. The Mimic Endo being taken to the Pizzaplex by the workers is the book version of Fazbear Entertainment not only using the animatronics for code but literally using everything in the FNAF franchise to make the Pizzaplex. What do you think?

Steve being killed while making 4 and Fazbear hiring a new dev could actually explain why 4 on were so different from the first 3 games. 1-UCN being part of the Fazbear coverup we heard about in VR could help explain why the timeline is all over the place. I also believe that the 8-bit minigames throughout the series were meant to be the actual events happening while the gameplay was the in-universe games.
@Joshchive Жыл бұрын
Does that include the cutscenes in the later games (Like Henry's speech, Etc.) Cause we know the FNAF 6 fire did actually happen.
@Boigboi88 Жыл бұрын
@@Joshchive that's a tough one tbh, but it is possible the speech didn't actually happen even tho the fire did. (Henry possibly being made up by Fazbear to cover up the reason for the fire.)

11:25 Alternatively, the fake house was designed specifically to not be able to have the room doors lock. Maybe it's just because of his delivery in the timeline video, but I really like Matpat's rendition of the Indie Developer story, where he made low-quality sprite games (and _potentially_ a version of one or more of the main FNaF games) when hired by Fazbear, perhaps explaining why he pumped them out so quickly.

Small nitpick the decades is about the negative reputation from stories, and the kids going missing, and when they talk about the indie devs games they instead mention the last several years.
@ImpulseEvan37 Жыл бұрын
Hand unit was explaining that those rumours CAME from the games. Obviously that's not true, but he says that it is, so for that lie to have worked at all (which it did) it would have to mean the games were made a few decades before

I haven't rear the book but it sounds like alot of these weird continuity issues might just be that the game dev is the ultimate unreliable narrator. For example, he didn't make a game in one day. He just thinks he did due to gaps in his memory or something. Idk maybe I'm completely off. Lmk

am i misunderstanding or what was that bit about the doors? besides the fact that interior doors tend to be able to be locked/unlocked from both sides in real houses, and in that scene he was inside the bedroom right? so on the side that even unconvential one sided lock doors would have the lock? also isnt the whole point about not being able to lock the doors in the house because they refuse to stay closed fully and dont have locks at all (like the fnaf 4 bedroom doors) maybe im misremembering the story, or Ozone (who's audiobook i heard for the story) said it wrong, but i really dont get that part

also for the part of what games are finished, i remember it being that he was half way done with the 4th one and dies before he continued/finished it, not the 3rd, i might be wrong here but that would atleast make more sense (and also, i am rather sure that the story includes minor time skips, it's not that he finishes a game in one day, rather that the next day the story talks about he is on the next game)

The existence of gas doesn't make the illusion disks not exist... lol. The gas was mainly for making the victim drowsy and sleep for longer amounts of time... Ironically, the things that you are saying Steve should be more keen on, are the same things you and most fnaf tubers are doing... not separating universes, but instead trying to fit every little thing into your headcanon timelines... especially matpat. You obviously don't know how locks work... or you have bad reading comprehension... judging by alot of your theories... I vote on the latter. At the end of the video, you seem confused at the number of games... wether games were made BY an indi developer, or fazbear, they are all fazbear games... Plus Steve's game 4 happened durring the first 3... so its logical he had some of game 4 in production, if he died after completing game 3... sigh... reading comprehension... again.
