When I read a word how can I figure out this long or short vowel in the word. Could you teach me or give me some advice

That’s a great question! Usually, a vowel will need a reason to say its name. It might be at the end of an “open” syllable, it might be being “bossed” by a trick ending, or it might say its name because of a “trick”. The key is to learn the “tricks” since they do most of the “bossing”. Keep watching the videos I put up and hopefully you will learn more about when to make a vowel say its name and when not to. General rule: only make a vowel say its name if you have a reason to. Hope that helps!

So “illustrate” is the word meaning to make pictures for something; an “illustrator” is the one who makes the pictures. But there is only one “illustrate”, if that is what you are asking. I hope that helps!😊
