Grief Connect founder Michelle Moriarty discusses her personal experience of grief and how it led her to starting ‘The Grief Language Project Connect Cards’ in an effort to provide meaningful advice to those giving support for grieving loved ones.
“My experience of grief was I did not know what to do or say, it was such a shock, and then also my dad died about 18 months ago and again, my mum is now a widow and I had to find out what to do and say to support her,” Ms Moriarty told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“I found during my own experience a lot of people around me wanted to help and they had good intentions but they did not know what to say or do to help me along my grief journey, so the Grief Language Project Connect Cards are 50 cards of helpful guidance that increase confidence in supporting others who are experiencing grief in knowing what to do and what to say to help.”
The Grief Language Project Connect Cards are 50 cards covering ‘helpful guidance’ on how to attend to someone experiencing grief and the ways in which support can be given.
