I've had the SC-1 and the KW-1 for quite a while. I had not had any luck picking Schlage locks with the Lishi. I can single pick and rake most Schlage locks but not with the Lishi. I can pick Kwikset easily, with the lishi tool. I don't know if my SC-1 lishi is defective or not, but I'm starting to think so.

Great job! Do I understand correctly that you now could review your video and note down the code that enables you to have a key made for this lock?
@HelpfulLockPicker5 жыл бұрын
To decode the lock the next step will be to use the decoder with the lock in the opened position. I did not cover it in this video but if you look through my Lishi playlist you can see it covered on one of the KW1 locks.

Observe that he used a vice to hold the cylinder so he has both hands free to work the lock. Also observe that there are no security or 'spool' pins in the cutaway lock cylinder. Practice locks are designed to be easy to pick for demonstrations such as videos. It usually isn't this easy in the real world. My locksmith uses a bump key.

@@HelpfulLockPicker not worth what? Opening them,buying it. Because they are cheaper than the rest
@HelpfulLockPicker5 жыл бұрын
I just don't see the utility in an AM5 Lishi in the field. The Lishi took makes it a bit harder to pick the security pins is what I have heard. If I could only own one version, it would not be that one is all that I am saying.

is it possible to practice lockpicking on my home door without destroying the lock? cause i loose my keys a lot. where can i buy this tool? what is a code cut key?
@HelpfulLockPicker4 жыл бұрын
I woukd not practice on a door in use. This is a tool available to locksmiths. You can try CLK sipply but they may cancel your order. A code cut key is an originated key which is not made as a duplicate

So I got my SC4 and I like it but I must be missing a technique or doing something wrong. For those of you with experience what did you find to be a common mistake when using the Lishi. Looking to learn.
@HelpfulLockPicker3 жыл бұрын
I am not sure. These tools are very straight forward. I just try if I can to use the 5 pin tool on 5 pin locks and the 6 pin tool on 6 pin locks because you have the potential to run into alignment issues

Great video bro, quick question I’m having really hard time picking ILCO sc1 rim cylinders, I managed to pick dozens of Chinese cylinders with the lishi tool, but the ILCO is super hard. My business partner who has over 40 years of experience in the locksmith industry said that ever since he remembered ILCO was one hard cylinder to pick. What’s your take on in it?
