It's complicated. My little brother died homeless. He was addicted and had aids from overseas. It's heartbreaking 💔 to even think about. Love you Jessica because I know that you must have times when you know that you need help. What can you lose by going to treatment? What would you gain? I'd get a notebook and make a list of those points. Jessica I'm 63 , I was abused by every family member in my home until 5th grade...then it was just moms abuse. I've been through alot of stuff believe me. I understand what you're going through.

I wish she would take you up on her offer to get the help she needs, because tomorrow may be to late. I lost my daughter 9 years ago to her addiction. She refused to get help! The coroner called me to tell me that my daughter had passed away. She was 40 years old. She wasn't homeless, but she refused to live with me, maybe she didn't like my nagging her to go to rehab. I just hope that woman sees the light before it's too late.

She has such pretty eyes yet, even with this video, you can see that those eyes have seen so much pain, regret and sadness. I’m a case manager working with the homeless in NC. Michael I make those same offers all the time, and unfortunately rarely are they ready. In three years I’ve estimated I lose one person every three months on the street. Hugging them one day and they’re gone the next. But you are right, we can’t work harder they they are willing to. I’ve learned that lesson. So I love on everyone and keep offering.

All I can say if your homeless community is very blessed to have you Mike. I’m all the way in the Pacific Northwest and people are not out checking on us at all in a positive way (at least where I am), we have some assistance as in shelters and food banks but not people who see us as human beings. I am and have been sober but lost my housing bc our property manager didn’t feel like following the law. God bless you.

my mother overdosed this year in january from fentanyl, she was 58, it saddens me that these people (mostly drug addicts that will not change or homeless people being stubborn) refuse the realize the reality of if they keep on with their bs of "ahh nahh, i aint going to a rehab" hell thats better than being dead in the streets somewhere! drugs are not as important as your life, family, friends and loved ones!

homeless and not on drugs. shelter found me and my boyfriend ineligible for services because we could not prove where we were for two weeks out of thirteen months. on top of that we had to dispose of all our clothing we had on because we contracted bed bugs in the shelter. now we are terrified of shelters. thankfully its started to get warmer in new york. but its still cold. never felt so lost. thank God for those non judgmental empathetic people in the world. praying we get a miracle soon. 😢

Michael you're completely right. I would work harder than my clients (and some family) and I did all the work with no follow through on their part. It was good to hear you give her the info and let her know you'll be there for her when she decides. I had 2 uncles die on the streets. One made more than $500 per day and it all went to the drugs that killed him. Jessica is looking worse each time I pray she gets enough clearness to realize what you told her is true. She has a fear greater than her addiction. Tragic stories and or scared tactics will not work, she is well aware of what can happen, she is living it. You need to find the root of the fear or put her in a motel for a week. A soft warm bed, hot showers and a taste of normalcy might just trigger something.

My best friend was texted a photo and information on his daughter. He couldn't believe it and he took a trip to the area he sat and waited in the area and after four days they were face to face he took her to get help and visited every time they let. He has only hope and that's everything to a father at least he tried. Bless those who grow kids are lost in themselves tell a angel sends info.

This particular episode reminded me of a time when one of my friends was really messed up on meth, she kept saying she couldn't get a job because she didn't have an ID and couldn't afford an ID. I picked her up, drove her to the DMV to get an ID, I told her I'd pay for it no problem, anything for a friend. I dropped her off at the entrance to the DMV and asked her to get in line and I'd park the car. By the time I parked the car she came back and said she just wanted to leave and go get high. I asked her "are you sure thats what you want to do? We are right here and taking a step in the right direction, you can always get high after if you need it..." she declined and wanted to leave. Flat out refused the help. Addiction can have such a strong hold on people. It's wild. The door to a better path can be within reach and still... some (not all) will decline.

I just came up with this the other day. Possibly these people feel like they can control something ( doing their drugs) because they have lost all control over their lives? Maybe being able to do the drugs is the last thing they feel they have control over? They understand the drugs have control over them subconsciously, but consciously they think they are in control choosing to keep doing them? That's my theory. There's a fine line between helping & enabling. Maybe if she didn't have the little comforts she's getting & was suffering more she'd choose rehab? IDK? Also as far as I know from past experiences if you want rehab ( State run rehab free) you need to call & get on a waiting list that could take days or a couple of months. Until accepted in the rehab you're supposed to call them daily usually at a certain time. The rehab people understand addicts & they understand the addicts need to want sobriety more than anything else. There are tons of addicts in rehabs & they're usually at capacity & they don't want to waste time with an addict that isn't serious & just using their rehab for a short escape from the streets. I've just never heard of being dropped off at a rehab without the rehab expecting a new client. Best of luck Jessica 🤞❤️🤞

I was homeless seven years. I am speaking from experience. Drugs and alcohol are escapes. Many, many women especially simply don't feel worthy inside themselves for anyone to help them. Kinda like you have been raped by life, and your spirit feels dirty and unworthy.

I'm not a person who cries easily anymore due to life's little lessons I've endured. But this broke my heart and soul 💔💔. She's so pretty but to look in her eyes it's like she's got no soul left. I've always been told you can't help someone unless they help themselves first. I know I'd want to sit down with her myself and just give her a big hug and tell her she's cared about and that would also be showing her. She can't make decisions on her own right now not with the look of a lost soul. I like your strategy handling Jessica, no pressure, only words from the heart. Towards the end of your video she looked like she was going to break down in silent tears. You just may have broken through a little bit with her on this visit. If you even broke through 1%, you moved some huge mountains. When it comes to your offer to take her to rehab, Jessica needs to "Say Yes to the Bless". It's not every day that someone like you will come along and actually care, I truly hope she can see that.

Why even have kids if you're going to leave them in the street alone to die? It doesn't matter what this woman has done. She didn’t ask to be born. The least her mom can do is come save her. This is sad and 100% her parents fault.

Every time I see Jessica, she looks worse and worse you cannot run from trauma. You need to face it head on I hope and pray she will get the strength to go to rehab before it’s too late. I will make sure to start praying for her every night. Love your videos I hope Jessica’s mother is OK.
