Helping Blue and Gold Macaw Open Pin Feathers

Rachel, my Blue and Gold Macaw, is itchy with pin feathers. So, she really likes it when I help open the pin feathers on her head.
It is really important to avoid blood feathers as they are still growing and not ready to be opened. Touching those can hurt and many parrots bite in response. Only the fully grown pins that are already flaky are ok to open.
My macaw is really mellow and lets me scratch her head and open her pins for a long time.

My birds doesn't like to do so. He used to allow before but now.

Training is a very effective way to maintain trust and behaviors that last the test of time. Teach your bird to allow touch and head scratches as an exercise so that the parrot can relax and actually enjoy it during casual interactions.
