I enjoy all your videos, but these coaching vids are my favorite. Not everyone is good at communicating technique effectively and it's really cool to see you do that so well. Content like this with terrain I can (almost) see myself riding and tips I can understand is incredibly helpful.

To me... your skills are amazing already...but to be able to be so close behind another rider and to be able to navigate the trail and to interpret how he is navigating the trail and to retain information at the end of each area.... great talent! My wife says I have ADD...but I have not seen that I could harness that alleged claim and utilize it. I used to race bmx...but only for a couple years. Working on getting some upgrades for my Walgoose Ledge X1 to try to make it a budget bike to learn on. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us! I'm a Jesus follower and yet there are times I still have moments of...wondering is this hobby going to distract me or allow me to roll with Jesus not away from Him. 😇💪🙏

30:17 I really like this advice. I learned this technique while riding motorbikes on switchback roads and iirc it's sometimes called the "motocross style cornering". Aside from letting the bike have space to move, allowing it to flow under you while you stay straight is also a form of energy saving (by only needing to move your arms and legs instead of also your torso) as your straight body acts as a centrifugal force against the bike allowing it to maintain lean angle without it falling over, while also allowing it to straighten up quicker once you clear a feature. Edit: the technique is called counter lean.
@ricaaat
@ricaaat 2 жыл бұрын
actually, motorbike riders do the opposite because they dont have sideknobs. they rather lean their body than their bike.
@mangoshake
@mangoshake 2 жыл бұрын
@@ricaaat I suggest you watch tight maneuvers on a dual sport/motocross bike. They lean the bike down while keeping their body straight as counterweight while feathering the throttle to induce a centrifugal force.
@ricaaat
@ricaaat 2 жыл бұрын
@@mangoshake ive seen many motorcycle races and in general, they lean their body more inside than their bike, at high speeds
@mangoshake
@mangoshake 2 жыл бұрын
@@ricaaat that's because it's a motorcycle race. Their lean angles are supported by very high speed. The riders lean in to counteract the centrifugal force created by the bike. Practical biking and navigating tight spaces don't require that much lean because you want the bike to be maneuverable.
