Hello Sasquatch, Thank you for those gracious words, I have seen and heard alot of form my homeless, but Kent who you were referring to is different, but he did change his attitude after a while. I'm learning patience and moving on to the next meal for our homeless. I told Kent I would fix him a meal anyway and if he did not like it don't eat it, but the food was there for him. Well Tim needs a lesson in gratefulness and humility. He was very rude and unappreciative. He acts like you owe him something. You may want to hand out some salt/pepper packets with the meals you serve. I don’t think that guy was necessarily in line with saying the free food was bland, but I personally season everything before eating so I can understand there are many people that need salt with their meals. Cheap meal ideas for homeless I think they’d love: That said some other hot meals I think would go over well for the homeless is pasta salad with canned chicken or bake and cut up chicken and add it. The Suddenly Salad pasta is best and Costco is a great place to stretch your dollar and buy in bulk. I think it’s important to make sure the hot meals are at least 90% homemade and not just frozen or canned heated stuff they could get themselves. Mashed or scalloped potatoes with plenty of butter. Potatoes are filling and almost everyone loves a steaming mound of buttery mashed potatoes or you could bake several whole potato and wrap them in foil to keep them hot then place in your cooler and give out baked potatoes with a side of butter, sour cream, and cheese if desired. Homemade meat loaf and gravy would go great with some mashed potatoes or baked potatoes. A steaming hot bowl of a hearty chili with spaghetti noodles or macaroni goes over well and give them the option of adding some shredded cheese. You could even make the noodles or macaroni separately and let them decide if they want noodles in their chili. A big hot pot of chili is always appreciated with a side of sweet cornbread or a roll. Spaghetti and meat sauce and some garlic butter bread sticks or rolls and a fresh salad. They don’t have access to a lot of fresh produce so that’s appreciated as well. Offer ranch dressing packets and maybe Italian. Sweet fried corn in butter is a fantastic delicious side. Look up a recipe for Homestyle One Pot Goulash! So cheap, easy, and makes a lot of yummy portions to pass out to homeless. Watch THE WOLFE PIT KZbin channel!!! He’s always posting some amazing dirt cheap meals.

I learn to not take their attitude to serious, and focus on helping them. As a preacher I deal with attitude, and many times when they say stuff like that I have to laugh. Our sugar levels go dramatically down when we are hungry, that's the explanation for grouchy odd mood swings and verbal abruptness. No excuse ment ,just a possible explanation,live with diabetes in family so I observe first hand. Your patience is a gift

Hello Rose, You are talking to a former Diabetic who took shots every day until I lost about 60 pounds and am no longer diabetic. I learned alot about my sugar levels, and went on a KETO diet. Hello Cindy, I know Gary is handicapped and cant walk far, and the others have all their personal things on their Bench and cant carry it all, plus they take a chance losing their bench they are on if they move everything and still would not be able to carry their food because of all the other stuff they had to carry. Hello Be Calm Live Life To The Fullest. LOL, That wouldn't be nice, I am supposed to help the homeless not punish them. I get over those comments from my homeless pretty quick, and the bible says: Romans 12:21 KJV Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. They can be mean at times but Kent changed his attitude later when I gave him food and Gatorade. He is not all bad and I am hoping to know him better in time and build trust.
