These engineers are building exoskeletons to help kids with cerebral palsy walk. Dr. Zach Lerner is an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Northern Arizona University. His team is doing a study to see if they can develop robots that assist children with varying degrees of walking impairment due to cerebral palsy. The goal is for them to train on them to correct their walk so that they can eventually walk without them.

The future is coming. These kid with CP are going to learn to walk with the exoskeleton. I heard military use exoskeleton for people who can’t walk normal.

What if they did the robotics in a physical therapy situation while wearing an oxygen mask giving them increased amount of oxygen so the muscles could actually heal well after having received stem cells and see if that cocktail wouldn't work interesting

It’s amazing how some people can’t do enough to steal and hurt, corrupt and destroy as many people as possible and some, far too few, make a lifetime effort to help anyone other than themselves.

angry nerds “Who disliked the video? That’s sad... my like button just turned blue” That’s English. Don’t get pissy because someone while yes, were trolling, encouraged you to use proper grammar and spelling. I know we all speak differently depending on where we are from and even what regions of a given country we are in, but spelling shouldn’t be a subject of debate, especially not with spellcheck/autocorrect As far as what you were trying to say originally, I agree; the video is touching, hopeful and I can’t think of why anyone would dislike it. The makers of any type of apparatus that helps people with limited/restricted mobility are truly pioneers. May their work be embraced and improved upon well into the future 🧐

People with CP being able to move around better is going to be bad? Or are you making the instant leap that this type of apparatus will lead to exo-suits that enable 10x human strength/speed/agility and will be used by criminals for ever increasingly heinous crimes that nobody could hope to stop?

Prismatic Fanatic 1) didn’t you see Exo-Squad in the 90’s? The exo-suits don’t take control of the humans that were neurologically connected to them, it was humanity’s cloned Neo-Sapien labor-force that had an uprising for equal treatment from their homo-sapien creators 2) there was already a movie about that called “Surrogates” with Bruce Willis, and while I haven’t seen it yet, I’m sure that everything turned out fine for humans and our existential marionettes Also, while yes there was an issue with the processor chips in the “Small Soldiers” movie and the robots in “Short Circuit” are likely going to be the early versions of Terminators, Johnny-5 ~was~ deemed alive after saving us all. Wall-E and Eve are robots and they freed the remnants of humanity from itself And also don’t forget that Rosie from the Jetsons wasn’t a robot overlord, nor was the Robot in “Lost in Space” The Iron Giant saved the planet and HE was a robot, so yeah, stop giving our future robot friends a bad rep. And Ultron doesn’t count because his cinematic adventure led to the creation of The Vision, and The Vision is awesome Also Cyborg from Teen Titans lore is half man/half robot and he’s still in control of his humanity Also don’t pay any attention to Metallo or Cyborg-Superman or any other villainous robots; they are not accurate representations of what the future hold Humans are allowed to potentially wipe each other off the face of the earth every day, so why not give robots the chance to fail us at least once or twice?! Give them a chance, and if they do take us over, THEN you can say “I told you so”, but you have to give them a few mulligans while they figure stuff out... so like 3 attempts to take us over before calling them captors/overlords... but no sooner. What’s the worst that could happen? 👁❤️🤖

Yup, that older girl is obviously a trained actor in the ways of walking as though she had a disability. That lab was probably all green screen effects, especially the remotely controlled treadmill and exoskeleton apparatus (I saw the digital effects clipping at 9:83) Or maybe Pug Tato meant that CP is fake? 🤔
