The simple life is sometimes the best life, but really hard work. I know I owned and ran a small holding in the UK, but not arable, other than an allotment. 15 acres in total.

I remember that when I was a kid, my grandma and her family lived in the countryside, and I spent a summer vacation there, but it felt like it took a long time when I was a child. But then my grandma also moved to the city, and I never saw the countryside again.

Manchurian Wild is on sale now in Hong Kong. It is cheap but very useful as a vegetable cooked with any kind of meat.

China is responding to the US trade war with self-sufficiency program. Food production is a top priority. Being good buddy with agriculture giants like Russia & Brazil helps. Cash strapped Argentina is repaying debt to Chinese companies with beef. China waived import tax on African agriculture products to help the Global South. Taiwan agriculture export to China no longer enjoy ECFA tariff protection. EU postponed vote on Chinese EV tariff. Waiting to see if high tariff will be levied on EU pork, dairy, cognac, gasoline cars and luxury goods.
