Great overview and info! One thing I noticed during the video was the placement of stops/shelters. You were often placing them directly across the street from each other. In practice, it's often better to place a stop on the far side of an intersection. It will have less impact on traffic. Additionally, not a big deal in CS2, but it's also safer since busses stopped at the near side of an intersection block sightline of pedestrians for vehicles approaching from the adjacent lane behind the bus.

@@canadianmooseplays all good. I've done it too. It's easier in game. It doesn't make much difference to the simulation. It's really if you want to add that extra touch of realism.

what do you mean by the far side of an intersection?

@@tayar3797 as you approach an intersection, you are on the near side. If you pass through the intersection, you are on the far side. So the bus should stop after the intersection.

In the city skyline2 there is no as much variety as in the first game . No articulated buses, no double-decker etc

i tried laughably to make my own highway junction in CS2 until i realized i had to buy intersections separately in the roads research. i kind of wish they should of combined them when you buy the highways option and then added something else like toll booths or something like that

Toll booths would have been awesome! Maybe I will do a video in the future on creating custom interchanges. I do love the ones they give us and I am someone who in CS 1 I hated making intersections but now in cs 2 I love making my own custom ones

I am surprised how often I get asked this but I have not touched anything in game graphics wise not even any fancy editing of the footage either or reshade. Everything you see is Vanilla graphics

What distance do you recommend between bus stops?

I would say anything around two to four blocks. You can also do express routes and those typically will follow one really long road the whole way from start to finish then back again and those would probably be 5-8 blocks apart.

I can’t find a very clear answer to how far you can/have to place bus stops away from each other and how far your citizens will walk before talking their own vehicle. And does it matter how long I make a buss line? I could imagine that in real life I wouldn’t take a route that takes 25 km or miles to get to somewhere. Plus: I tried to make some lines with one clockwise and one counterclockwise at the same stopplaces (on the other side of the road) but that result in nobody taking the buss line that I made a second. I just can’t figure out what the most effective way is to implement busses to reduce traffic. Can any one give me some clear answers please? Thank you!! 🙏

They walk far as fugg. Sometimes it pisses me off because they will skip over stops and transit options to walk if it’s quicker. But I typically still do them about every 3 blocks or so..

I wish there were broad settings for ticket prices... such as "low/med/high"... and not exact dollar values. Because what do I know, and I don't think I should know, not without additional analytic UI elements that tell me what's the impact of a $3 or $6 ticket on my citizens. Low/med/high would make more sense on the top-down macro scale that the player occupies.

Honestly I love the idea you purpose either with low/med/high or maybe telling us the impact of the dollar value and I hope this is something we might see in the future.
