I honestly find it hilarious (in a good way!) that they entirely flipped Eliza's character on its head for this musical. Musical!Eliza: I never put myself in the spotlight! This is extremely different from First Burn and it's really interesting in a good way. At the very beginning, I disliked it, but as I keep watching, it's growing on me. It's really upbeat and has an almost old feel. It's like something you'd play in a car to jam out to with some friends while driving with the top down by the coast or something. It makes me just want to get up and dance. I see a lot of people saying "I don't like it", "First Burn was better" or "This is bad" and while I agree everyone is entitled their own opinion, I think these guys deserve a little more credit. They took this song in a direction I never would've dreamed of but it works fabulously, or at least, I think so. They've taken the song and completely turned it into something their own and that's extremely commendable.

Aqua Marine I didn't like it at the start either but I agree, it does grow on you as you keep listening. I wasn't expecting it to be so different so I was put off but I decided to keep listening and realized it's pretty good, the different isnt bad. I think people say it's bad because the style is so different from the original or they just don't like this style of music.

Modernized AU I thought about this one Eliza is a nerdy or shy student at school in the morning. Just literally quiet, she is. But during the night she and her sisters hold a punk rock concert to some club every night, Schuyler Sisters lol. Then one night, Alex with his gang came to the club. Actually Alex is a super nerd geek at school so Eliza didn't really mind him that much. Burr is a metal head and helps Alex because he insisted to be a cool guy like him. The two friends along with Mulligan and Lafayette jammed to the rock songs. When it's the Schuyler Sisters song number, everyone went wild including Alex. hannah ! I respect your opinion, but will you allow me to oppose it with my own? Hamilton was very diverse not only with cast members, but with the different music genres. Rap, British rock, etc. But the most outstanding part of the show was that they singers didn’t even need to speak to convey their emotions. It was in their voice. And here, there’s no emotion. I saw the same problem with the Hamilton Mixtape. The singers nor the composers aren’t bad (I liked An Open Letter, Take a Break remix, and Wrote my Way out), and the songs I just mentioned had some emotion, except for the remix. In An Open Letter, the rapper is arrogant, like Hamilton when he wrote his rebuttal to John Adams. And in Wrote my Way our, the rappers convey this feeling of proudness as they talk about how they each wrote their way out. And many people can relate to that song. The “Hamilton Style” is just emotion. There’s nothing here except a good singer and a good instrumental, but there is no substance. So no, it isn’t “Hamilton” enough. But, you’re free to have your opinion.

Piper Does Minecraft no one is hating, like others, I don’t personally like the song. It’s basically just a KZbin cover. Nothing new, nothing creative. First Burn and Found/Tonight are variants of the subject at hand. First Burn explores more of Eliza’s anger and her thinking of the future instead of her sadness. And Found/Tonight takes two seemingly different musicals and songs and mashes them together to create a heartfelt and universal take on the lyrics. Nothing is entirely in the style of Hamilton, and this rendition of Helpless is well done, but nothing new.

lmao listen up- hamildrops don’t have to be “hamilton style” otherwise it’d get boring. hamildrops are supposed to be new and exciting, bringing something different to the table. they’re not supposed to be the exact same as what we know. the regrettes are an amazing band and I thought that they did an amazing job on this. their style is so exciting and lively. it captures Eliza’s youthful excitement. ok that’s all I love the regrettes

I can just imagine Eliza, Peggy, Angelica, and Mariah in a band. Eliza as the main singer, Peg as the drummer, Angelica as the base, and Mariah.. idk. Eliza met Alexander after a concert. They exchanged numbers and went on their way. They kept texting each other for a while and they want to meet again, but first she needs her dads approval. After begging her dad, he finally obliges and lets her go. They meet quite often after that and they become a couple. When she introduces him to her bandmates, Mariah seduces him and cheats on Eliza. Eliza finds out about it when Alex texted her about it, so she kicks Mariah out and brakes up with Alex for awhile. Idk after that, someone make the rest up.

Then, maybe a close friend to both Alex and Eliza from a couple years below them (Phillip) get's hit by a car on the way to meet Alex at a concert. They're both devastated since they were like family to him and Alex tries reaching out to Eliza again since they were both very close with Phillip and they start reconciling instead of just spending all day in their rooms with the blinds drawn, listening to Wake Me Up When September Ends on repeat. Alex apologises for everything and they start up again. How was that?

Okay, can everyone stop saying that First Burn is better? Cool, you have an opinion, don't bash the song and say things like that you hate it and First Burn will always be #1. Saying things like "It's not in the Hamilton style." is dumb the thing about the Hamildrop it's a new style or variation of the original song. First Burn isn't really much a stretch from the original and isn't as different and creative as this one.

@kawaii rachyy you sound legitimately stupid. You just said this rendition wasn't creative because they used a different style, a style nobody would have expected and they still killed it? Though I like First Burn, it was most definitely not as creative as this. They added a couple of lines and multiple Eliza's and though that's great to listen to and watch, this band completely recomposed the song and finally gave it the edge it needed. SO don't try to discredit the song with trite statements like "many artist have blank blank blank" and that's that on that.

Theodosia Burr So we aren’t free to share our opinions? No matter how “stupid” the opinions are, people still can speak it, because this is a public medium. First Burn was in the style of Hamilton, but if I didn’t like The Regrette’s rendition of Helpless, I wouldn’t like First Burn either because it wasn’t the same singer. But, First Burn conveyed anger, and this Rendition of Helpless didn’t strike any emotion for me. I liked Found/Tonight as well, even though it was just Lin and Ben Platt, and not Lin, Anthony, Daveed, Oak, and the whole company of Dear Evan Hansen. Because they conveyed an emotion of hope. This rendition of Helpless is well done, but it can’t just simply have a good instrumental cover, it has somewhat relate or convey s feeling of being lovestruck. And it didn’t. The singer isn’t bad, but it’s something she could work on. That’s why people express their opinions so that the artist can approve on their works.
