I went to school for engineering, completed an apprenticeship under an amazing engineer, and mixed a couple tracks that were released on commercial albums; so I know all this but (9minutes in right now), this still has value to me.. I'm gonna save this video because it's a great refresher course for when I've been out of the studio too long and start making rookie mistakes or been IN the studio too much and get so carried away with adding artistc touches that I lose touch with the fundamentals.

I’d love to hear your take on how you order your plugins in the inserts and how you choose to route your vocals!

I don't think I can ever thank you for how much info you share man. If I ever need a refresher on any subject in mixing, I pretty much bounce between you and three others. So again thank you. I've been teaching people recently on mixing in Studio One, and also giving voice/music lessons. For concepts like EQ and Compression I send them to your videos after we finish a session, pretty much as a way to study at home. So i cannot stress how thankful I am for these videos when it comes down to this practice. All Love!

I'm just trying to learn the technical side of music, been writing for ages... A lot of these guys are just awful at tutorials. You do a great job explaining everything, and NOT ASSUMING we have a certain base of knowledge. I'm literally clueless when it comes to this stuff, especially the terminology beyond just identifying what effect is what. Thanks for everything man and I wish you success in your pursuits Whatever it is you wish to get out of music

Now we need a vid on how to bring the “body” of these thin vocals back! Great help channel btw!
@EmilioSarabia4 жыл бұрын
just look up his video on compression and add that step after your EQ
@leotheproducer64564 жыл бұрын
Be careful w the low end u dont want to take alot bc thats where the body comes front ! Also w the higher frequencies try to balance it out and use compression to make things more even !! Parallel comp also would help
@Rob_7114 жыл бұрын
Another thing besides compression is adding harmonics using saturation big dawg
