I have worked in the mental health field for decades I am now retired, and I have not seen the movie ''Die Hard''. I saw the title and thought, ''Oh, something new. I have never heard of this one''. The video made me laugh.

Wonderful presentation, Dr., and thank you! I am fascinated with the case of Clive Wearing. Are you familiar with it also? The documentaries I have watched about him are all years old and I was wondering if there have been any advancements towards understanding what is taking place in his brain. Anyway, a very Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Thank you, he had herpes simplex encephalitis which destroys the parts of the brain that form new memories. I have seen documentaries about him and I will have a look to see if there is anything new. Best wishes.

This is really interesting. I was very surprised when I found out what a short time the hostages were with the hostage takers in that Stockholm bank. Although I found that out from a movie, so I could be very wrong about that. The lengthand severity of the ordeal that Patty Hearst went through causes me to feel positive that she had Stockholm syndrome. It's a really interesting syndrome that applies to hostages, cult member, abuse victims, so many different situations. Thanks!

Nowadays daughters of mafia bosses got education in the UK and USA as bank financial analysts and work in Parliament as elected members in Lithuanian Parliament preparing laws suitable to criminals and in the banks of London to inform potential victims to their brothers organised thieves. My complaint and information of names I investigated myself were angrily greeted by Prosecutors and I received an official letter to my declaration address not the residential I wrote in my complaint letter, which means “we will declare you out of life like my Mother was killed in hospital as victim and witness”. ( I have few residential apartments)

When I visited Helsinki during the Cold War some Finnish college students described to me a behavior that might be called the Helsinki syndrome. Like the Stockholm syndrome, it gives the _appearance_ of agreeing with one's captors or, in the Finnish case, the Soviets and distinct possibility of an invasion and occupation. But unlike the Stockholm syndrome, the Helsinki syndrome is _faked._ It is expressed but not believed. Those Finnish students gave me an example. After the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, the only political party in their country that dared to criticize it was the communist party. The others kept silent about their actual views. That is the Helsinki syndrome-faking agreement with someone who threatens you.

This was fascinating, and very…interesting, she says grinning. The general media is so unironically inaccurate in so many ways when referring to syndromes and illnesses, this reminds me to always question, even if I’m then at risk of a mild case of Copenhagen Syndrome. So many people still believe that if something makes it to the screen or in print, it must be true. Thank you Professor!

Did you REALLY just say "the RELATIVELY PEACEFUL ending of the TWA 847 hijacking"??? Yeah, except for that one guy being murdered and having his body dumped onto the tarmac, it was relatively "peaceful". Source: Wikipedia: "Robert Stethem, a member of the U.S. military, was targeted, beaten, and tortured. Finally, the terrorists shot him in the temple and dumped his body onto the tarmac at the Beirut airport."
