Helson makes great watches and has incredible customer service. Stefan is great! That top part of that hex tool actually unscrews and you have another hex tool inside of it. You are right , you definitely need one for each side of the lugs as they both spin when unscrewing one or the other. Great review!

I have the 40mm Blue ETA model. I like the new clasp with the ratcheting diver's extension. I also like the matching color on the date wheel and the unique shape of the case. I was less impressed with the bezel lume application. It looked a bit sloppy on my watch. In hindsight, I probably should have ordered one of the Miyota models with the ceramic bezel. My least favorite part about this watch, however, is the dual screw bracelet system. It is the most demonic sizing system known to man. I would rather resize 5 Seiko pin and collar bracelets than resize another Helson. The good news is that once you get it properly sized, it's a great looking bracelet that is comfortable on the wrist.

I think the design wears larger because of the broad lugs, much like the maxi case of a modern Rolex (at least the 40mm before the new 41mm). As such, i was pretty happy with my 38mm SD. It wears like a 39mm, almost a 40mm, on my 6m875" wrist. I would be interested to try a 40mm version. They seem to have more variety. However, I am focused on the black with raised markers (applied indices). Hope they make more of those. I am perfectly fine with a Miyota 9015 movement. They've always been thin, reliable.and accurate and can save some $$. The bracelet is a solid system. As M u said, once sized, that's it, done. So, not really a big issue. I actually dont have any strong preferences for any particular bracelet sizing system. They all have worked for me and in the end not that hard to do once you have the proper tools and understanding of how they particularly work. Thanks for watching.

Oh hey that tool unscrews into two hex head tools 👍🏼. There is a small one screwed into the larger one....the tool itself, has two hex head tools.

It does? Never knew that. Thanks.

I’ve got one of these inbound. I have the same in the 40....curious to see how much of a difference the 2mm makes. I know it’s huge in the 40-42 so we’ll see.
@khronokraze3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, these tend to wear a little larger, almost 2mm more visually I think, because of the beefy lugs.

That's one good looking watch, I'm not sure as far as sizing wise. I have a 6.75 inch wrist should I go with the 40 or the 38? Isn't the 38 too small?
@khronokraze3 жыл бұрын
These have beefy lugs. It wears and looks at least 1 to 2mm larger on wrist. I feel it looks like 39mm on wrist. I have a wrist size between 6.75" and 7" for ref. Do you think it looks too small? You could go 40mm. But, it will probably look closer to 42mm on wrist. Lug to lug on these is still relatively short proportionally, regardless of size. If u want more wrist presence, you could probably still wear the 40mm. But, for a 38mm, it does present larger than most other 38mm watches because of beefy case and particularly the wide lugs.

@@khronokraze cant really tell based on the vid, sometimes the camera distorts and give a false perception on the vid it looks o.k as far as size , did you try the 40 as a comparison as well?
@khronokraze3 жыл бұрын
No, I have not tried a 40. maybe some day.

@@ron1355 I suggest you watch AverageBros review on both the 38 and 40. It may help if you haven't watched it yet. He has separate reviews, but also compares them next to each other, too, in another video.

Do you still have this watch? I have the same size and color but in blasted titanium and I'm wondering if you'd entertain a trade?
@edwardfernandez24393 жыл бұрын
It's keeping really good time too. About 4~5 seconds fast a day give or take. If you're interested, let me know and I can send pics

I just heard your comment about the bezel action and personally I think it's pretty good. I had a Zelos horizons before this and I actually prefer this action to that one.
@khronokraze3 жыл бұрын
I already sold it.

Yeah, I don't have any issues with the Helson SD bezel action. It's quite good. I'd just say my example was a hair off perfect alignment.. close enough, though, where it didn't bother me. Regarding Zelos, I did a review of the horizons gmt as well as a comparison to 3 other white dial watches. The horizons bezel was a little sloppy... at least my example I had borrowed from a friend was. There was definitely some slack with the ball bearings. Could feel a shift in either direction I'd nudge it while set and seated. It also didn't feel refined and a bit crude disappointly.. like it wasn't well lubricated. Idk, part of the issue could possibly be because there are fewer detents because it was 48-click, if I recall correctly. So, unlike a dive bezel that often has 160 clicks, it may have wider or longer travel between clicks.. but, then again, I've owned some Glycine Airmans that had bi-directional 48-click bezels and they were pretty smooth and had nice solid and smooth clicking action.

Colours on your camera are weird. That is the blackest looking blue I have ever seen. Love that model though. Sapphire bezel upgrade is the seller for me.

I think the color balance was off. It should be more medium blue in color
