Hellzapoppin' is a 1941 film adaptation of Hellzapoppin, the musical that ran on Broadway from 1938 to 1941. It was a production for Universal Pictures directed by H. C. Potter.[2] Although the Broadway cast was initially slated to appear in the film,[3] except for Olsen and Johnson and the Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, no one else from any of the stage productions appeared in the movie. - Wikipedia

I'm a lindy hopper in NYC and the world over it's been gentrification to no end. Lots of racism from 'others' towards the originators, but that's changing! I believe Frankie manning and norma Miller are in here. Harlem legends! I've seen the 'others' do this exact routine and they think that doing aerials is an accomplishment. Unfortunately, when you cosplay lindy and lack the cultural history and soul of the people who created it, the dance comes off as looking slow and labored lol
@clicheguevara5282
@clicheguevara5282 3 жыл бұрын
The ‘other’ musicians in this film look “slow and labored” as they make a mockery of those fine European instruments. Only white people are cultured enough play woodwinds and brass. Also, since you were born long after the 1940s, you also lack the cultural credentials to Lindy Hop. Your hopping license is revoked as of June 1, 2021. You’re free to do any dance that was created locally, after your birthday, and by someone of the same race. All other dancing is forbidden and will be considered McCultural Appropriation™️.

Yet colonizers and their helpmates keep stealing and mimicking our stuff making a mockery and multi millions off of it too! The ♠️ Brigade keeps telling Black folks that “All Lives Matter” while selling us to the colonizers. I bet you that these Coloreds who do this are direct descendant to the Africans who sold Africans to the late colonizers who enslaved our ancestors.
