Hemopoiesis : Process of Formation of Blood cells (RBCs, WBCs, Platelets) Hemoglobin : It is the main pigment in Erythrocytes (RBCs) which gives red colour to the blood. It's main function is to serve as a carrier for Oxygen. It is synthesized in during Erythropoiesis in the Red bone marrow within the immature Erythrocytes. It is made up of 4% Heme (Fe2+ & Porphyrin) and 96% Globulin Protein.
