This is a beautiful restoration. Thankfully you got the car and was able to get it back into this condition. I absolutely hate seeing them sit in lean tos and out in the weather.. I've saved some myself since the 1970s. Always makes me happy when I know those cars are being cared for in the hands of people that care.

@@taylormademusclecars thanks. One was a real V code 1970 GTX 440 six pack stick car. Air Grabber Hood, super Track Pack. It was setting in the weeds out in the Sticks at a farmers place. Everything was there but the center section underneath the driver seats and back behind the rear seats was completely obliterated with rust along with the trunk. I rebuilt the carburetors on the six pack, rebuilt the engine, new centrifugal Style Hayes clutch pressure plate and disc assembly, racer Brown cam that was NOS I had kicking around. With a little bit of Port work on the 906 heads. This was a hydraulic Engine with anti pump up lifters. With a stock bottom end other than cam lifters and fully grooved main bearings, this car went 11.78 in the quarter with slicks on it. That just goes to show you the potential they had from the factory. Your Hemi car is gorgeous. I owned a 1970 426 R code Challenger yrs ago. Currently restoring a 69 Super Bee and I have a 71 Duster drag car also. I started with these cars in the 1970s and I'm in my sixties now. Truly a hobby that I have loved since I was a teenager. Thanks for sharing your restoration once again :-)

That's so nice to see all of that fresh paint, new gas tank, and all of the attention to detail. A nice repaint really does them justice. That patina stuff only makes me sigh. You get bonus points for the hemi and the four gear. Next time, I'd love to hear you mic the left and right exhaust for us and start the engine (and idle it off the cam). Hearing it in true stereo (I've got big speakers) really is truly awesome. Next, I'd love if you'd take us for a scare ride and show us your proficiency with the four speed, running up and down through the gears. Cheers, you've done a nice job! I'll say that you deserve top dollar.

Am I seeing the dome light wiring in the centre of the roof? I thought all the 2 door hard tops had a light in each C pillar
@taylormademusclecars2 жыл бұрын
From the factory it did have the dome light in the center as well as the ones in the c pillars. We just didn't put them back in those spots. The harness wasn't that great.
