Note at minute 11:50 Dr. Shipley says: The specific gene sequence for HFM in human DNA has NOT been discovered but it is “likely” that it interferes with the production of normal signaling proteins in the neural crest cells. This is where I’m not 100% convinced about the hereditary factor especially him saying 50%. I’ve been told by many different doctors over the past 16 years that it was likely a vascular insufficiency, which Dr. Shipley does mention as a another possible reason. Perhaps the blood supply was somehow interrupted to that side of the face for whatever reason. This seems logical to me. A surgeon we saw in California also suggested to us that he thought it was inherited and had been working with hemifacial microsomia patients for over 30 years, so I’m not discounting what Dr. Shipley said; I just want to understand it better.

he doesn't have any hearing problem but this distraction of face looks weird day by day as one part is developing normally
