Hemodynamic Basics for Nursing Students

This video provides an overview of hemodynamic terminology.
I am Gail L Lupica with over 20 years of experience teaching nursing at the pre-licensure level. I earned a Bachelor Science in Nursing at SUNY Binghamton in 1986, a Master's in Nursing Education in 1992 from New York University (NYU) and a PhD in Adult and Post-Secondary Education in 2011. I have many years of experience in NCLEX-RN test preparation and remediation.

Oh my gosh if my professors would teach the way you do, I would not be struggling! Truly, the way you implement Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Cruise, that is how my brain is wired.. I need context.. Can you help me understand--ACE inhibitor used reduce afterload would also reduce preload, correct? Wouldn't reducing preload be unhelpful for the patient who needs reduced afterload? I know there is something here I'm not understanding yet. :)

I’m still not clear on NTG to lower preload. If NTG dilates the vessels going into the right atrium, doesn’t that mean more blood passes through, hence increase ventricular filling? Wouldn’t that increase preload even more?
