Magnificent! It looks fairly large for what is considered a "small" remote island. I'm surprised there are no settlements. It looks habitable with regular visits from today's cargo ships.

Yes although large, the Island is completely coral, and contains very little soil for agriculture. To support a settlement indefinitely, almost all supplies will have to be imported.
