The show is about making a song from another genre your own and offer a new perspective to it, like Floor did with "Vilja Lied", Rolf with "Hotel Calofornia" and Ruben with "Can't Help Falling in love". Going out of ones comfort zone is not a goal in itself. It's a party, not a competition!

But if we ever dare to venture outside the borders, we find adventure, we find personal growth, and we find amazing performances like this one. As if it's mandatory to do that all the time and you should never be there at all. It's just that you shouldn't be locked up in your comfort zone and not be afraid to go into the cold and explore new territory. But if fear does not play a role, it's all about congruence: that you do what is in line with who you are. And that, in order to find out who you are, you try anything and everything, even if you haven't done it before. And that if you have gotten an idea of who you are and what you can do, you will continue to learn and challenge yourself. But that can be done in many ways, also by acquiring mastery. Like these artists, who are getting better and better at what they do: singing. Congruent singing, that is. In line with who they are and by doing justice to the song at their very best, with heart and soul. From this point of view, Henk's version of Despacito suits him perfectly, because he is not unfamiliar with Spanish and with his long experience (classical music and musicals) he can really "just" sing. And Floor has, besides an immense talent and reach, an academic degree in music with further education in opera and music theatre, so Shallow is not really out of reach. Anyway, that's not how I want to talk about it: it spoils the experience, like a finger in a delicious glass of beer with a nice head. Because that's what BZ is all about: singing with love and amusement, conveying real emotions. In harmony, surrounded by equals who push each other to great heights.

Stepping out of your comfort zone is about exploring something and those lifestyle coaches make it seem like you should reinvent yourself. The goal is to become you+ because you've grown, not to put on a mask and pretend to be something you're not. Brilliant covers often step out of comfort zones, take Hurt by Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash, it's the same text, but one is a depressed man who's soul is in agony and the other is an old man telling his life's story.
