Super cool! I've always wanted to learn how to dive, with the dream of exporong wrecks!

I live in Chicago and I plan to take a few trips this year. I want to visit Traverse City, Charlevoix and Beaver Island.

Cool video! How much air are you carrying to get that much dive time, that deep?
@BlueyesBelow2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We are actually using rebreathers, so it’s a very different type of diving over open circuit scuba. We literally have 8-10 hours of air in the tiny tanks on the unit if we are efficient. The open circuit bail out bottles are for if our rebreathers suffer a failure. Depth doesn’t matter much on a rebreather and we use the same amount of oxygen per minute if we are 5’ deep or 500’ deep. Our diluent gives volume for breathing and dilutes the 02 to a safe partial pressure. It’s a great tool for exploration!

Gotcha! I thought you were using rebreathers at first, but then it looked like you had side mounts. I guess those were your bail out bottles. I live on Lake Michigan, but I have a long way to go before I feel comfortable diving that deep. Hoping to get my rescue diver and maybe dive master certs next winter. Definitely looks like a good time though!

Just enjoy the training journey and be safe as you progress. There’s so much to see shipwreck wise in all levels of training, but the deeper ones are really awesome!
