complete tutorial of how i swapped out the specter cord of a Hennessy hammock in favor of a Dutchware continuous loop. Also, a quick chat about how i lost over 4 pounds of base weight in 3 areas, Hammock, tarp and Backpack.

If you want light weight, no need the buckle just tie a hitch knot to the hammock, it's easy to adjust too

I have friends that use this method. I prefer the buckles.

Great modification!!! I will have to let Craig know. He has the same hammock in the gear room, but he never uses it due to the weight.

It saved weight and makes it easier to use.

What length of Dutch straps did you use for the weight comparison?
Awesome, I am looking to do the same - have you noticed any problems with the small holes being elongated or something? Thats my only worry

Modifying with continuous lips was the best thing ever. Cut weight and made set up a lot easier. No issues at all

@@138modified Awesome! I have settled on cinch buckles and are ordering from Dutch as we 'speak' - happy trails!

@@MrSiegenfeldt I personally love cinch buckles. They are a no brainer imo. I use the dutchware beetle buckles.

Im guessing you can't use the tarp that comes with the hennesy hammock anymore right?

I already had hennessy tarp on its own Ridgeline with it's own snake skins. That way I can load up in the rain and after everything is in the pack, take the tarp down last
