D’autant plus émouvant que Henri Cartier Bresson avait horreur des interviews Merci

Thank you Nuno for posting the original English language version of this interview. If there were more opportunities to hear Henri Cartier Bresson speaking in English I would have probably not made it through the end of this interview. The contrast between Henri Cartier Bresson's answers and Charlie Rose's questions are almost too difficult to witness! Charlie was not able to embrace one of the first things that Henri Cartier Bresson mentioned (in this interview) in his approach to photography...that is "sensitivity"! I have never heard a more disjointed interview than this. It was painful, but I hung in there to gleam the gems of wisdom and perspective that Henri Cartier Bresson graciously offered to the listener.

+Marshall Machado So true, I agree with you 100%.

+Marshall Machado Very true. The humble and sensitive spirit of Bresson was not grasped by Charlie Rose. This video is a treasure!

There are no photographs I find more emotionally genuine or compelling than those of HCB. His vision transcends what most people are capable of seeing, much less what they are able to convey in their art.

The photographic arts never got any better than this. I've been in love with what he did for over 60 years now. And no one, not even him, can really explain what it is that he does. That has to be because it is not really of this world.

My favourite moment 41:31 "Nice composition... well may be..." :D - "No, no, no... I won't give you scissors!" :D

Hcb would’ve loved digital, no printing, no developing. Just shoot, it’s there, send the file to someone else. No rolls needed.

Probably not, he loved contact prints he used to say that was the most important part. That's when you truly see the sensitivity of the photographer, when you see his line of thoughs and mistakes. Limitations is very important to the creative process.

@@Zecamilleo you can make digital contact prints now, in a much easier fashion.
