The way he came back from the disappointing 13-14 season and the loss at the World Cup final was phenomenal. He silenced all his critics and haters with his fantastic performances which led us to another treble while breaking some incredible records on the way. For me the best season of Messi , absolutely complete attacker in 2014/15, left foot, right foot, header, dribbling, passing, finishing, freekick, long range, curve shot and of course that deadly combination with Suarez and Neymar, the start of MSN, not to mention the night he just totally destroyed Bayern and his solo goal in CDR final......maybe someone will say that False 9 Messi was the best,but for me that inverted winger position bring out the best version of Messi, just in the half space and behind a typical 9 ,you can see Messi got so much freedom there and also with Suarez pushing back the defense line, Messi had so much space to make his impact,also his long pass from right to left was just brilliant! A treble season and Ballon dor winner, Messi is just too good to be describe, the best player of all time!

陳柏翰 false 9 is the best position for Messi and the point that's because he has immense freedom, in the wing position he could only really move from right to center, while he plays as a false 9 he can decide wherever he wants to come in from and he has the license to drop deep and build the attack from there and can also pop around the center to score goals quite easily not to mention he has more control of the game from there But 14/15 Messi was just out of this world and the best season Messi had arguably with the 10/11 season

Eugene Olewuenyi Yeah you're right Messi has so much freedom in that False 9 position, but I have to say he get more space to build the attack when there is a Centre Forward up front and block the defender for him, when Messi was younger he liked to run into the opponent and create chance for his teammates but now when he drops deep he tends to use his vision and passing ability to find his teammates , so it will be better to have a blocker creating space for him. I will personally prefer Messi to play as a inverted winger or a second striker now. But I agree that Messi was on his physical prime under Guardiola, his dribble and run was just unbelievable.....

Nah 2014/2015 he was more effective overall as leader who essentially led them to triple & absurd playmaker like a classic #10 who still scored so many goals, basically perfect package. 2009 Messi was a more explosive dribbler but thats about it. If anything on a pure individual standpoint 2012 Messi was the absolute peak of any football player, but Barca won less titles and thats what's always most important, how whole team performs.

What are you talking about? Messi is still amazing even with the beard he won two golden boots with it and was basically the entire attack this past season he carried Barcelona. The team isn't helping Messi like the 2014/15 season, Messi has had fantastic individual seasons since he grew the beard but the team doesn't help him, with or without the beard Messi is still Messi he has always performed that's why if Barcelona don't win the UCL it's the teams fault for not being good enough because in every match Messi is always involved but one man can't win you trophies he needs help. This past season Messi was the top goalscorer, assist provider, chance creator, most free kick goals, most successful dribbles etc without him this past season Barcelona would have went trophyless and without him Barcelona lost their undefeated streak in the league
