Have been to Henry Coe many times the last few months. Coit Lake has recovered from the fire damage. The area you show completely burned out is totally green now. Flowers are out and there's lots of water.

Awesome video of my fave local spot. I'm a regular there since childhood boyscout days. Your right that place got hit hard in Nov 2020 with fires, burning about 2/3rds of the park :/. First time seeing video of Coit lake since. Whole place was outlined with tulis and reeds. Bummer to see it like that. Thanks for sharing

I guess those are wild pigs doing all that damage with the clumps of dirt everywhere. I go to Coyote lake in Gilroy quite a bit and there are wild pigs everywhere there and the ground looks like that.

Usually the ground is like that due to wild hogs, they tear the ground up rooting for food. (Be ready to run they are a very bad lot yikes) I googled that park and they have had problems. The terrain is so different than most places I've seen you hike, it's far less rugged but pleasant.

Agreed. The park has traps to capture them. Apparently they forage at night.

Great trip, I've been thinking about heading down there and exploring the Coyote Creek Area, (2 mile road walk South of the Hunting Hollow entrance). I've been filming with the Sony A73 and the 24mm GM. Loving the results, but I do like the wider perspective that your 20mm depicts, great choice on the A7S3, I'm sure you will make use of the great features and the flip out screen which I desperately want and some point. Let me know if you ever way to head out on a trip and collaborate, I'm in the Sacramento area and there seems to be a shortage of outdoor minded folks. Cheers! Edit: I have a good selection of Sony lenses primes and zooms, so if you want to try a few out, let me know. I have the 24-70 F2.8, 70-200 F2.8, 16-35 F4, 55 F1.8, Zeiss Batis 40mm F2. I'd personally go with the 24-105 in your case, extra reach for when you need it albeit at the cost of a bit of weight.

I was looking at the 24mm but thought that a bit wider would be nice to have. Since this video I picked up the Sony 24-70F4. I'm going to use this for my day time shots and the 20mm for low light/night video/pictures. I was looking at the 24-105 F4 but its half a pound heavier than the 24-70. Good to know I have a view a local viewer/content creator/Sony user.

@@BurleyOutdoors I totally agree, there is a significant field of view different between the 24 and 20. Oh nice, that lens should give you more options when you need to get tighter shots. I've been wanting to get out more, since more things are opening up, been looking at doing an overnighter in the Ventana Wilderness, and maybe some fishing and photography in the Eastern Sierra down Highway 395.

Feral hogs did that to the ground. If you learn anything about any other plans a at least make sure you know what poison oak looks like because it’s vicious 😂. Also where you are at probably has air traffic from Oakland international, SFO, and San Jose. It’s still pretty awesome that there are places like this around still even being surrounded by development.

Good question. Nothing is planned right now. The US/Canadian boarder is still closed to non-essential travel. Maybe if everything works out this summer we can do a fall trip.

Video clarity is amazing, watching in 1440p. This is the camera to keep. Walking-talking-selfie video stabilization could use some improvement.

Im glad you like the video. I used a non-stabilized prime lens in this video. Future video shot during day time will use with a image stabilized lens so Im curious to see how this affect walking and talking shots. Thanks for watching!
