Thank you for explaining the problem so clearly. Having read Professor Stewart's Incredible Numbers, I had come across the sphere packing problem but had to do some reading on modular forms to understand her paper. I admire her persistence and technical ability. A remarkable achievement.

What has the world of math has come to prizes are given to people who solve problems which doesn't even have a single use in the practical world not now or ever and now there nothing to Marvel at human mind as it tries to solve mathematical problems with their beautiful minds in their beautiful ways the reason i fell in love with maths to begin with now most of the work is done by the computer which wouldn't be possible without it it makes human race with their minds look puny to me
