I've been waiting for Henry Fong to come back here for so long that when I found out 'Morenita' was set to be released ok TT's label I was quite excited about it, but things didn't turn out the way I expected.. Henry's lastest releases under Dim Mak for example where all about Hard stuff, his collabs with my mates Psycho Boys Club and ALRT were out of this world. Set to be released on SINPHONY, a "Hard" label wich we can see on it's previous releases (no example needed, just all of them), I expected 'Morenita' to follow what seemed to be an obvious path: a Hard artist releasing a Hard track on a Hard label. If you were trying to show us something completly unxpected then for sure you did, probably it got released on Spinnin' because Tech House is mainstream now and we know Spinnin' follows everything mainstream-related but really? It even surprises me that Timmy Trumpet signed something completly out-of-the-box compared to his other signings but to be fair SINPHONY might be the label that fits more to this track's vibe. Don't get me wrong, the only bad thing about this track must be that it has an end, here we got a cool mixture between latin's Merengue and our not-so-underground subgenre Tech House. It's not what I expected but it's still an decent tune and most importanly: Henry Fong is back on the big label after years.. happy dance music friday everyone! :D thx for reading btw :)
