My experience is quite long Henry Jacques and I agree with most of what you say. I am a big fan of you, but I’m also a big fan of Henry Jacques in this. It only takes one to two drops which means that they will last for years, however, I only have just a few I moved onto some of the ones that you suggested.

I think Mark's strategy of keeping his nose off everything else has paid off grandly. His work is so refreshingly original. FYI I am pretty sure more Assam is coming. I have a bottle of the most up to date version and it is a brilliant take on oud.

Clandestine Laboratories-SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!! Mark is insanely talented and highly underrated, thank you for again mentioning his house and prowess. I think that Silver and Pool Boy are my two faves at moment, with Chiron perhaps tied.

I hope you will do more reviews of HJ perfumes. I'm a big fan of this brand, and Fabien Absolute is one of my favorites from what I've tested so far from them.

Cheers Rams, nicely done, I wanna say that H.J.is a brand totally focused on the visiting dignitaries and wealthy people from the Middle East(mostly Women apparently) who frequent Harrods and make beelines to his fragrance Dept for their scents as is their habit of doing when visiting London, and I reckon Roja noticed this ritual by the wealthy from the Middle East and ,on releasing his house I feel he focused on this strategy of giving his takes on Guerlain styles blending in the Middle East vibe ,packaging it in the bedazzled Eastern style and charging the prices befitting people of wealth and status, And if it’s not attainable by the average joe, well so be it and of course we will sell it to Joe if he somehow can scrape the asking price of a bottle together lol 😂. That said quality is superb in both houses for the best part and ya gotta admire the business strategy for sure. Cheers buddy great vid ,oh received my bottle of De Cendres yesterday, man this was not entirely what I actually expected, it’s better than that ,Devin meets Synthetic Jungle with leather and smoke ,not for everyone, but damn I really like it 🙏✌️👍

You forgot the part of the Roja strategy of handing out free bottles to KZbinrs who have barely, if ever, sniffed Guerlain.

@@sharfalor4244 ah yes indeed I Roja’s greed and possibly a boosting of sales to sell out to a conglomerate, taking inspiration from the Creed business module lol , Roja does keep his finger on the pulse of the success rate of others and runs with with it 👍

That's a crazy observation but working in Harrods probably gave Roja the idea... your insights are brilliant as usual Bren

Well I don’t think that the ratio is that bad : 1100€:30= 36€ the gram x 3 = 110€, less expensive than most if not all artisanal attars

Wonderful take on a hyper-hyped brand..after trying for long when i first tried the house i immediately got vintage association…all his non oud creations are in a way or other a take on vintage gem which costs 1/100….i was deeply disappointed..

Yeah I would just wear the vintage tbh But if money was no issue they are beautiful and last forever...but like you said they are overpriced by a factor of at least 10

You are wrong at so many levels here. 1- unlike other brands that just claim, HJ created bespokes for royalties. You could find loads of evidence for that if you did a little bit of research. Making a comparison between HJ and creed seems uneducated. 2- How come paying $2k for 3gram EO is justified in your opinion but it’s crazy price and gimmick when it comes to HJ? Do you have any evidence HJ uses cheap raw ingredients? I have quite a lot of evidence that proves quite the opposite 3- you claim Sultan Pasha is miles ahead from HJ? In what sense? Using better materials? Or blending better? Those who know Sultan Pasha know that he adores HJ. Ask him if you don’t believe. 4- you have a strong bias toward heavy notes, which is understandable. But don’t forget that perfumery is all about balancing and making a good composition rather than putting some raw materials in a blender. Also, it’s fairly easy to create oriental and animalics, while it’s very hard to create a fougere. This is where French traditional perfumery shines compared to the indie niche houses that are growing like mushrooms. Having said that, I’m a fan of this channel and always enjoyed your content. ❤

Yes I Have seen the HJ creations for Sultan Bin Qaboos ... still doesn't make me impressed... but that's just my opinion and I have only tried a few ... so take my opinion with a grain of salt
