Way back in my senior year of high school, our jazz band played this number multiple times. As the lead tenor sax player, I never had any trouble playing the main melody lines of the song, but always struggled with the solo part - never could quite get the "feel" to add that something special to the solo. . . That was fifty years ago, but when I dig my horn out from the back of the closet, the first sound out of the bell is "The Pink Panther Theme," I still remember how to play it. . . Such an iconic melody!

My grandfather's brother (great uncle) took me to see The Pink Panther Strikes Again as a Christmas gift. Strange; it really wasn't fare for a 13-year-old (especially the scene where Clouseau and Olga are in the bed that eventually gets thrown through the castle wall because of Cato) but I sure remember it! Still love Henry Mancini's classic score for Pink Panther.......
