The textures of the tenor lines, especially those in the high register, and the violin contemplate each other magnificently. There's been a lot of name (reference) dropping when it comes to Amba, my initial association today was a tenorist who gets rarely mentioned (if at all): Evan Parker (those toppling low end notes right at the beginning, ain't they reminiscent of Schlippenbach Trio stuff?). Finally, as wild and rough it might appear, in a way, all of her playing appears (to me) to be centered around naitivity and hymn demanding perfervour.
