Henry Mills, Son of Man

Hello beautiful peeps :D seems like it's been awhile since uploading a video and decided to do something a little different. I have done a lot of Hook and Emma and while I enjoy them (probably will have a video again no doubt with them) I wanted to do one this time of Henry, kind of been a song I felt fit him so perfectly. Father, Son, Grandson, Author, Heart of the Truest Believer, Henry really was what drove the story and Emma on her journey! (UPDATE: I will not answer this anymore, the "man" in "son of man" is referring to mankind and I am not implying any sort of parentage, I am well aware that Neal is Henry's biological father. This is a video on Henry's journey from boyhood to being a man, has nothing to do with father/son relationships, thank you!)

Thank you for your comment and I am cautiously optimistic about the season! I didn't like Camelot, only because two dark ones seemed silly, Merlin dying just confused me and Emma was the nicest dark one ever, I kind of was hoping to see more of a dark side to her. I am hoping that they give Henry and this new season a good story, especially with my favorite pairing effectively gone this season, will take a lot to keep my interest but I really love the show, sooooo I can't just abandon it yet

There are two crossover fanfics between this saga and "OUAT" (I'm surprised there aren't like hundreds of them). Sora, Kairie and Riku's story was that Kairie was the princess of a kingdom in the Enchanted Forest that swore to protect the world of light, Sora was her Keyblade knight, and Riku was simply a knight. The Dark Curse separated the three of them and made Sora and Riku enemies, Kairie's fate kinda unknown. Why am I talking about this in here ? Because Henry has the power to manipulate reality as the author. Ever since I read them and played "Nirvana Initiative", I have been thinking. What if the worlds'saga is meant to suffer a complete reset "Dark Curse" style ? For a new world to be born ? I guess, like Kirari and Yumeko from "Kagegurui", I want to see the universe come to its flashy end, to see its rebirth and what comes out of it. Actually...I don't think this is something recent. Ever since the first game, when Ansem talked about death, that I could only wonder how this universe's hidden side is ? What lies beyond light and darkness ? What happens when the light separating them evaporates ? What is left ? Will the dead rise ? Will people be reborn ? The possibilities are endless. And all it takes is someone to perform the heart surgery without being manipulated by neither the power nor the characters.

I like the idea but why is Henry shown with Hook when the song says "son of man"? Henry is not the son of Hook but the son of Baelfire/Neal. Why didn't you use more footage of Henry with his father? They are shown together only very briefly at the end and not even when the song says "son of man".

Son of man means mankind, it doesn't have anything to do with parentage. I really tried my best not to use a lot of Hook/Henry clips or Neal for that matter, I have far more of him with Emma and Regina. Despite my dislike for Neal, I did include him, it wasn't like he wasn't in the video at all. You have to remember past season 3, Neal was no longer around, I wanted to represent him through the seasons and whether if people like it or not, Hook is now Henry's stepfather and a part of his and Emma's life

Maybe it is because english is not my mother tongue but it is very strange to me to think that « son of man » can mean something else than being the son of a man. And the man from whom Henry is the son is still Bealfire, even with Baelfire being dead. Of course, that’s your video and you decide how to make it but I have to admit it really disturbs me to see Henry with Hook precisely when the son says « son of man ». Henry is now Hook’s stepson but he will never be his son.

I am curious if you've ever watched the movie the song comes from??? It was done for Tarzan who was raised in the jungle, by apes. The song was talking about his growth from becoming a young boy to becoming a adult, he didn't know of his father or mother for that matter. It's not a father/son video, I never wanted it that way, it's a Henry coming of age video and yes, even Hook was part of his growing up. If it weren't for Hook, Henry would have been long dead in Neverland. (In the English language man can refer to "mankind" as in the human race, not just man as in gender)

((I think your video was amazing to showing Henry's growth from a boy and a young man and to his age now. He had many in his life that would be ones who love him I agree if it weren't for Hook coming back to help Emma save Henry he would of been the dead. There are many ways to be a part of someone's life and family and friends. OUAT is about surviving many have grown with mostly no family it is about becoming of age and mankind. You did show Henry's growth as a man with a few parents in his life.))

Of course I watched Tarzan. But I always understood Son of Man was about Tarzan growing up into a man and not an ape BECAUSE of his parentage. Even if he doesn't know it, he is actually the son of a man and not the son of an ape, so he grows up into a man. To me, parentage is a very important part of this song.

I always had a thing for the cuties like him. I'm not sure how to explain it. They just seem so...underrated. Even though their arcs can be of the best, as they're about faith, hope and why they're still appliable in today's world. Do you understand what I mean ?

Honestly, that is a good question, Violet was cute and his first real crush but I kind of knew that wasn't going to be long term. I probably would say if they had changed the story, Drizilla would be my choice, they seemed to have better everything together, however I was okay with Henry and Cinderella, I just felt that the chemistry was lacking

Truthfully, I felt that Henry and Drizella had better chemistry together but I also think him and Cinderella are cute as well so I'm not upset at all they were together. I don't think the writers or creators intended for Henry and Drizella to play off better onscreen but it kind of does

Cora I think wanted to be a good mom but she thought Regina having power was more important than happiness and what she wanted in life. Regina was heading that way with Henry but she did see the error of her way!. Thank you for your comments :)
