Henry Moore is considered one of the most renowned British artists of the 20th century, whose contributions to sculpture and sculptural art are groundbreaking for the development of contemporary sculpture with their organic formal language characterised by influences from nature. His graphic works repeatedly show his special sculptural eye, but are highly independent works of art. Particularly moving examples of this are the drawings of people seeking shelter in the "Shelter Drawings", created during the Second World War under the impression of the suffering experienced by the civilian population.
