Feathers is from a split with Tiger Trap, the vinyl for that release had a locked groove that would play that hissing feedback noise you hear at the end of that track forever which apparently wasn't popular enough for them to do the same thing for this release.

Untrue to hear this in good quality audio having spent half a lifetime with the 128kbps version that did the rounds on filesharing platforms all those years. Was always so fascinated by how woozy the EP was which was both emphasised and exacerbated by the low quality rip. Having Sally Wants and the outro to Three crush my bones without being able to make out any detail had me always coming back to this, wondering if it was enough to be besotted by, wondering how much the original audio would reveal, wondering if the next time I heard it I’d be able to make out that detail. Sorry to splurge but it feels like first hearing shoegaze for the first time, a new means of expression that I ended up devouring in my late teens. Wow wow wow!

I honestly just thought it was the lofi aesthetic gone guerrilla having only heard the filesharing uploaded to YT hahaha Somehow I persisted and learned to love the noise underneath the noise. Trust me, what was meant to be heard was heard, just with some oddly welcome additions I’m listening to it now on low volume on an iPhone 7 speaker just to capture the nostalgia Also because I’m poor

@@pandaman1800 this is a lo-res digitally lo-fi verson of an orginally lo-fi analog recording. the band has relesed this album for streaming on on bandcamp. hear the difference and if you care to support the artists/makers of this music you listen to buy the album. it 8 bucks for crissake.

kinda wild that this was all recorded to 1/4" 8 track tape (!) with no over-dubs or bouncing tracks. all live except for vocals. recorded in a 10x10 carpeted room in the bands garage. dustin of the band rocketship recorded it. he is amazing. imagine that much noise on only 7 tracks and one left for vocala. still sounds better to me than so many studio recordings with so many more resources in terms of tracking and post production. this is definatetly a document of the times.

oh i shoud add feathers was recorded in a studio in albuquerque. a studio that recorded a ton of local bands and was more than "equipped". listn to the difference in sonic quality from feathers and the rest of the record. sonically so differnt. the band was really influenced by the jesus lizard and even more the band unsane at the time, you can hear it in feathers but i stil think the dustin sessions that make up most of the slbum are sonically the best.
