When I was a kid my brother taught me to shoot (he also raised me) and he said I couldn't own any other rifle than a single shot .22 until I could afford to buy my own. I did shoot his, but they weren't mine. For years all I had was that .22 and I became an absolute master with it. Couldn't even guess how many rabbits I took with it. It taught me to shoot, stalk, the importance of shot placement, and patience. I've loved single shots all my life because of that few years.

Same situation with me bud, I'm 61years now and my first firearm was a single shot shotgun 12ga STEVENS! And having just that one shot Taught me to make it count and I got pretty good with it I think everyone should start out with a single shot firearm when you have quick back up shots I've noticed you shoot better with the 2nd and 3rd shot, because mentally you know how many shots you have left, I like the story you have told about Life and your Brother, God Bless you and your family 🙏

Didn't know you could break them down. Might have to add one of these to the safe

Just be carefull in addition to the large pin theres a smaller pin that easily be pushed either direction , this pin in question basically slides into a groove that keeps the rifle in place and allows it only to open so far. Basically its what keeps it opening just enough to function without it hanging on the larger pin all willy nilly. You gotta slide it in there but its tiny. Like thickness of a really really small allen key. I do often keep both my henry singles (shotgun and .223) dissasembled but its worth noting. Almost lost it first time I dissasembled for a thorough cleaning. It also wont go back together unless you have that pin right. Kinda like on the Ruger 10/22 where you gotta get the safety wedged just right halfway to pull it out..only this is for it to slide into place. Easy to take apart, takes a moment to put back together.

Recon you could fire 223wylde through it also?
@LawlessNate3 жыл бұрын
There is no caliber called .223 Wylde. 223 Wylde is a specific chambering which fires either .223 Remington or 5.56 NATO. It's supposedly more accurate to fire .223 Remington out of a gun chambered for .223 Wylde than it is to fire .223 Remington out of a gun chambered for 5.56 NATO, and that's why the chambering exists at all.

A Skinner Peep sight on this would make for a great little firearm 💥

CUTE,BUT , none of the Henry fans show us the actual groups. Minute of two liter does not constitute accuracy.
