I myself like anime a lot, and it's replaced tv for me. But the general anime communities' acceptance of loli type media really, really bothers me. I always have people throw the argument at me that because "its not real" or "its a drawing" no harm is being done, and thats simply not the case. It goes the same for the art community too. Its not everyone, of course, but it's just horrible how normalized and accepted the content that shad artist makes. People just dont seem to get in real trouble for making that kind of immoral media. I got a lot of hate for voicing my distaine for the anime "gushing over magical girls" in which the story revolves around young girls depicted in sexualized ways, including pretty much full nudity. I, too, this day, can not believe how popular the anime is and how open massive youtubers (that cover anime and the like) are about their love for the manga and anime. Its just straight up disgusting. If you pay attention to what some people say and do its very easy to see who they really are outside of the persona they put out online.
