I have the Medium and it shaves fine with the Astra Green blades. I usually need to make repeat passes on the chin as it is very mild and I do not like using it with more than a day of growth because it is uncomfortable. However, I recently tried Feather blades in the razor and that changes the dynamics totally. It becomes a much closer shave requiring fewer passes - and - it makes a Feather forgiving.

is all that rubbing the shave cream necessary?
@lukel80453 жыл бұрын
Depends on the thickness and direction changes of your hair pattern. If you just got out of the shower, not nearly as much due to your hair already being saturated and your pores relaxed. In this situation, the purpose for all the rubbing is to change the directions of the hairs and agitate them with the cream. To the average person just trying to shave, no it's not necessary... but for a video where you're trying to have a perfect result, I'd say it's fair to rub that much. If he didn't then someone would have said he should have gone longer lol
@Chance573 жыл бұрын
I would say yes if you haven't just showered. You're here naturally coats itself and oils to protect it. This is supposed to keep it at a set hydration; not too much water in and not too much out. When you working it on your face like this, your agitating the hairs allowing the oils to bind with the soap and make way for water to be absorbed more readily. Wet/hydrated hair cuts much easier than dry hair. Over time, without giving any of this thought, people extend the length of their lathering because they find intuitively that they get a better shave afterwards. That's because the hairs have had ample time to soak up the water and soften. If you showered and washed your face ahead of time, you could jump straight into the shave.

The dude still has shadow on his moustache area. A guy like this with broader upper lip area could have a groomed and well shaped moustache and groomed goatee. The fully shaven face doesn't fit him. The fully clean shaven face is more suitable for men with narrow upper lip and just narrower face.

Are you the wolf man? Post shave, you have a shadow :D I can barely grow a beard, I have soft, patchy hair, and I hated shaving my whole life (40). I gave up on cartridge razors because they would just tear up my neck and I would rash up. I would have to plan on shaving 2 days ahead of going somewhere like on a trip or an event, so that I looked somewhat clean but not like a teenage boy with acne from the razor burn. Eventually I moved onto motorized shavers which never caused rash but never worked that well for coverage. I found the philips one blade to be the best in that regard but still not awesome. A lot of work to get everything clean (because of hair growing in different directions). Only a couple months ago I tried a DE and it made me love shaving again. My neck doesn't get wrecked. Pretty much zero irritation. It takes more caution and deliberate action though. I considered the Hensen because I found my steel DE to be rather heavy and I thought aluminum would be the cure. After seeing your video I'm not so sure. I think I will stick with what I have. I do bleed a little bit, maybe 2-3 cuts per shave. But they don't hurt, they don't linger in irritation, and they don't cause bumps. Maybe that's the best I can expect.

I’d say so depending on what your current set up is, any razor you haven’t used has the potential of being better for you, don’t know till you try. I haven’t used this razor yet but ordered one. For one I like the geometry and little blade exposure, should offer little blade chatter. Also the mildness makes it easy to use when you’re in a rush with little time and no patience. I’m ordering it cus I like a mild razor for going against the grain, I’m hoping this work a charm for it. Ease of use + potential better shave in terms of comfort and results, is a win in my book.

Mainly if you get ingrown hairs or skin irritation from shaving, especially if you are required to shave every day. This is what I would get for a teenagers first razor, or if you are a head shaver since that can make angle control more challenging...
