I don't know why, but Henya choosing *_"Strongly Agree"_* for every question reminded me of the Club Nintendo surveys where people just filled in a bunch of random answers just so they could get the prizes lol.

No one knows. They just showed up one day and HR thought the Executive team put it there, and the executive team thought HR put it there.

Those tests are auto graded into 3 categories; red, yellow, and green. They use those tests because they want to higher cheap with .inimum risk.

They had those questionnaires for jobs I applied to at big box retail stores in the past. They are worth jack diddley.

Employers in the US have to be extra careful when they hire now because it's so hard to fire someone without getting sued. When I was young you filled out a one-sided application with your name and address and whatnot. They would hire lots of people, and then ax all the ones who didn't show up to work, didn't work while they were at work, or were rude to the customers. It was a lot easier to get a job and a lot easier to get fired. If you were a normal person who put in an honest day's work, it was great. Took me ten minutes to land my first job at _MacDonald's_ and I worked there the whole summer.

Those questionnaires suck. They exist because they hired a bunch of idiots as managers (hired, not promoted, because why should the person in charge be able to show subordinates how to do their jobs?) and can't be trusted themselves to hire competent people. Store manager at my last job literally spent all day playing those digital slot machines down the block while on the clock. Worst question on that place's questionnaire was, "Smoking marijuana at work is just like having a drink." This one is open to interpretation of management because if I agree I could be saying that you shouldn't do both OR that both are ok. If I disagree it implies that one is ok but not the other, but doesn't specify which one.

The application process is designed to be bad so that they can also test for pure agreeableness - if you're willing to jump through hoops, you'll agree to anything. Anyone who quits during the process just avoided a terrible job.

I blame lazy job owners who refuses to hire those who are never experienced of stuff.

I think there's a lot of knock-on reasons. Like employee protections are good, but those same protections and regulations make it costlier for companies to onboard employees, making them risk averse. It's like with renting. You want some protections for renters, but the more protections renters have, the more landlords are going to make you jump through hoops to get an apartment.

They're not lazy. Firing people is so fraught with legal peril you want to be as absolutely sure as possible the person you hire will work out.

What job was this? I don't think I spent more than 30-minutes at interviews

I didn't know they had these in the US too. Very annoying. 😒
