Hi, 27f, just got diagnosed with this. Im a non drinker and non smoker. Vegetarian. Its says diffuse hepatic steatosis with focal fat sparing. No diabetes no high cholestrol. Pain in upper right quadrant. What could cause and is this dangerous?

By Oct 2022 I had drop BMI from 29+ and now below 25. Pushing towards BMI 24. Should had done this 10 or 5 years ago. I believe that I have this focal fat sparing even at my current BMI. Will have to do an ultrasound for my liver this coming June.
