Very beautiful Mina! 😊 I like how you put a dividing line of black between the colors, gave it almost abstract look to it. Masculine but elegant! Dried nicely! 🥰🎨🌹

Oh my goodness, what a strong, powerful pour! Your interpretation is phenomenal!The colors excite & expand the myth, so that Hephaestus really is the Man! God of the fiery forge, stone & married to the most desirable of Goddesses...no wonder he would have the heart to boast of his place in the world of Olympus! Oh wow I liked to have been the spectator hiding behind the tapestry during & after that marriage! Oh my, what a pair! Yes, I love the mythology too. Love this series! Bravo!

Hello, my name is Tish & I'm a nerd-oholic! I'm addicted to all things art nerdy & mythos geeky! You've satiated both with this video! I love the masculine colors in this but with just a touch of soft metallic - as most men of myth are hardened & yet tend to have a soft side, too. I think most men in general are that way too, even if they don't want you to know about it! 😉Beautiful work! I'm excited for the next video! ✌🏻💜😁 Tish

So fun to learn Mythology and see your version of the story take life with your paints. I love the metallics. The only thing I would have left is the copper/fiery cell area you tilted off. It reminded me of the forge. It is beautiful in the long run. Great job, thanks for sharing and inspiring. Huggles and spoons always , Be Well. Liz 👩🎨🎨🖌💖🍀🌺🙏🦓🇺🇸😎

Very curious why you’ve utilized a bit of Behr White House paint? I’ve not had luck with it but Molly suggested I add acrylic white which did help keep it from “ fracturing into freckles “....
@grayscreations70044 жыл бұрын
Love it, Mina! I think that you should call your art series, “The Greek Mythology Series”, rather than the “Aphrodite series”. Have a fabolous day! 😁 ❤️🇦🇺
@xanthidinefelis84304 жыл бұрын
Flip it over! Then the coppery bit becomes the forge fires. The Purgare silver becomes the smoke from the forge. The middle bit becomes veins of ore, or Damascene steel, with sparks from the forge. There are some "rocks" that look like chunks of ore. The pinkish pearl bit becomes the "Hand of the Maker" or maybe his lame foot...
@xanthidinefelis84304 жыл бұрын
Oh, and the turquoise and blue are the water to quench the steel...

@morgancampbell71154 жыл бұрын
why do you add the liquitex and then floetrol instead of just one or the other?
@MinaVillegasArt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Morgan! Liquitex gloss medium and varnish is a pouring medium, it has polymers in it that bind to your paint and create effects. Floetrol is a paint conditioner, its function is to slow the drying time of your paint and give you more time to work. They are two different things. Some people do use only floetrol as a pouring medium, but I prefer using the gloss medium and varnish because of the finish when it dries and the feeling of the paint. When I use just floetrol by itself I can see the weave of canvas, I don't really like that. I use the liquitex as my pouring medium and I use the floetrol to increase the amount of paint that I end up with because it's more economical. The pouring medium, because it has binders in it, also keeps the integrity of the design and doesn't allow it to keep spreading after you are done. Floetrol has self-leveling agents in it, so it will keep spreading. It comes down to personal preference really, this is the mix I like. That was a great question! 😊 Thanks for watching
@morgancampbell71154 жыл бұрын
@@MinaVillegasArt that was a great answer. I had actually wondered why some times I could see the canvas and sometimes I couldn't. If it slows the drying time, is that then the same/similar as GAC 8000?
@MinaVillegasArt4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the GAC800 is an anticrazing agent, it too extends drying time. Be cautious with it tho, a little goes a long way! I added about a teaspoon to each of my 16oz cups, the painting took days longer to dry than usual, and I stupidly stood it up and watched in horror as the center ran like water and ruined the painting. 😕 I know some use GAC800 as their pouring medium, but it's fairly pricey too. Maybe I'm not there yet, but its not something I like to work with. It's very thin, I guess I prefer my paint fat 😁 phat? LOL
