Great story of a great little piece of automotive history being lovingly brought back to its glory. What a treat it was to watch this evolution.

DANG, THIS MAN WENT ALL OUT IN RESTORING THIS OLD JEWEL!! I love what he did to this. Being a 43-year experienced GREASE MONKEY myself, This is my ultimate dream is to do: OWNING A SHOP AND LIVE THE REST OF MY DAYS RESTORING OLD IRON OF YESTERYEAR. "LADY YOU'VE GOT A TRUE MAN THERE". WELL DONE ON THE TRUCK, AND BEST WISHES TO BOTH OF YOU.

Very touching story! Beautiful job on restoration! I have a 1965 scout used for plowing snow only. Seeing the job you did and the finished makes me want to redo mine also.

Oh man!! That was awesome to see your progress!! I have a 70 Scout 800A series that has the slanted 4 engine in it. Its not built for speed and it does lug down going up hills but she will pull your butt out of anything and climb a hill in granny low! The body of yours looks almost identical to mine but the inside interior panel board is different and the gear shifter and 4wd shifter is different. You did an absolute beautiful job on that Scout!! I just wish i had the time and extra money to fix mine up to be road worthy. Right now Sassy needs a new windshield, some engine work, and i would love to have disc brakes instead of the old drum brakes. Also the bed has a fair amount of rust and i would love to cut it out and replace that. I did convert mine to power steering years ago because i used to off-road alot in her and camped in places where 4wd was required to get there. Mine is a foam green color with a white top and the numbers 06 was on top. I believe the people i bought her from said that she was originally a forrestry or a park ranger rig that was used in Colorado. I bought her in 2007 and then sold her to a friend in 2013 with the stipulation that i could buy her back. I bought Sassy back from him 2 years ago! Im so happy to have her back home! Im really proud for your wife as i feel like we are kindred spirits when it comes to our Scouts! And you are a goid man for fixing it up for her! God bless you both and stay safe!

Very good story, love how the truck turned out it's perfect. How in the world did you get those outside shots going down the road.

Thank you for watching, I like sharing this story. For the shots, I used a GoPro 360.

Have you and your wife ever been to Fort Wayne, Indiana? The Scout, along with the semi tractors were built in Ft. Wayne, from the beginning of the Scout to the one to roll off the line. They have a museum at the old factory and every year in summer they have a celebration for the international vehicles that were built by the company. And an avid sub group just for Scouts for beginning to the last in all the varied models. Check it out, I'm sure you will have a great time.

That sounds pretty cool. My father in law and wife are from Nebraska and all about international harvesters. Sounds like a place to take them. Thank you for the view and information.

I remember driving past the Harvester plant in Fort Wayne when we went to see my grandparents (parents both from there as am I). Acres of Scouts; even remember seeing some painted in olive drab for military use; not sure how many they used and for how long. If I remember correctly, there was a railroad crossing close by.
