Wow the father is absolutely terrible in both timelines, if she couldn't suddenly read his mind and wasn't a adult woman in the body of a child, she would have had no idea that he loved her when he actively tells her that her only value is to be married off, he wishes she was a boy and he refused to talk to her at all in her first childhood. He sucks and it sucks that it takes her going back in time and basically doing all the work to improve there bond when she would have been just a child. It bothers me too much, he should have gone back in time and improved his daughters life honestly, been a better father.
