I just started playing this year and you have been a huge motivator. I am a 68 year old woman, was always an athlete and eventually had to have knees replaced. I was looking for a sport…I play golf (traditional) but find it boring! I got my first discs on Amazon…and went to find a course. My partner and I were horrible…max throws about 80’! So I went to KZbin to see how to throw and then started watch the disc golf network! Immediately you were my favorite pro….so controlled and poised. You inspire!

I fell in love with this sport 3 1/2 years ago when I needed some type of exercise while I am battling brain cancer. There is no other professional I would rather watch then Kristen. It's one thing to be the best at your sport but she stands out even more as a good person.

Great interview. First of all, congratulations on getting Married. As a fan I want to thank you for being so humble and just a great person first. You have brought so much class to this sport, and it's very enjoyable to watch you play disc golf. Unfortunately, in the world we live in celebrities and sports stars get all kinds of criticism. You seem to know what's really important in life. Stay true to yourself and don't listen to the nay sayers. Best of luck to you in your disc golf future, but more importantly in your life. I hope you find what you're looking for outside of disc golf, because that's what matters most! God bless.

People complaining about C2 are losing their crap over at most a couple millimeters... Do they really think a foot being a fraction of an inch above the ground at the exact moment of release is going to give someone an unfair advantage enough to equate to accusing them of cheating? And such that you can't even tell in real time, you have to have a super high frame rate camera that enables you to watch frame by frame over fractions of a second so you can have your aha moment and see that a blade of grass moved... Really? If it was a deal, the other card mates or tournament officials would have called it. But honestly, it's a stupid rule anyways, And I agree with Brodie, that they could really make some interesting stuff if the regulation was simply you had to have a supporting point behind the lie and you can't touch any ground in front of that before the disc is released, then you could have some really cool stuff where someone is stuck behind a tree or a bush, and they do a sideways diving forehand from midair and really at a pretty interesting dynamic. The PDGA needs to focus on rules that actually affect gameplay and need to remove vagueness. So you've got to have a supporting point in the box behind the lie, no supporting point can touch the ground anywhere in front of that when the disc is released. There, done. The rule is clear, it's easy to tell if someone is violated it, and anything that doesn't violate this is not going to give anyone an advantage. I mean that's a big difference between step putting in C2 and jump putting in C2, step putting your only moving one foot at a time so there's almost no chance of violating this, whereas jump putting you're moving both feet at once, and you're talking about a fraction of a second. That just invites nitpicking that has no significance.

If the other card mates dont call the violation then it doesnt matter. People were complaining about James Proctors putt that won him MVP Open, turns out you slow that one down and it is a “legal” putt. Even if it wasnt nobody called him on it in a moment where everyone was watching.

I am SO TIRED of the jump putt warz and the people constantly complaining about jump putting being Overpowered or whatever. However! The advantage gained in a stance violation is real. Think of it this way: having to consciously work to time it so that your foot is down presents a disadvantage. If you are convinced that you are throwing a legal shot (or are simply comfortable ignoring the rule on the grounds that close is close enough) then the pressure to make sure it's legal is relieved, and you will be more accurate. Your recommendations prove this: you want people to be able to leave their lie prior to throwing, dive, etc. because it would be interesting and more shots would be possible. This line of thought concedes the point that leaving your lie early presents a competitive advantage. Hence, under the existing rules, Kristin is committing a repeated violation conferring some benefit, and it's a bad look for fans to pretend otherwise or minimize it b/c it happens to be their favorite player who is doing it most visibly. I predict Kristin will handle this well, and I can understand if she and / or fans get frustrated with language like 'cheater.' But the fact is that it's the responsibility of players and particularly players of Kristin's caliber to adhere to the rules in a self-regulated sport. Fans should support her in taking this seriously and in training to take this flaw out of her game, rather than stomp their feet insisting "a couple of millimeters" doesn't matter when it obviously does matter both for the competitive edge it confers and for the integrity of competition in general.

@overfiend75 That would be a logical argument if she was flying through the air like Michael Jordan or something before releasing the disc, but these people are nitpicking frame by frame at a fraction of a second, so no, there is no advantage whatsoever in that instance to the point that these people are complaining about. We're not talking that she is a couple feet in the air or even several inches, most of the cases people are complaining about we're talking a fraction of an inch that you can't even tell without going frame by frame. If you can't even see a violation without ultra slow motion replay, it's got no business being called. But ultimately my main point is, it's a stupid rule anyway and they need to just get rid of it. Who cares if their feet are touching the ground, as long as they started behind their lie? If someone wants to complain that there is an advantage, then practice and learn it! Or the other option, just get rid of jump putts completely and keep the same putting rules. But there shouldn't be any rule in existence in any sport that is completely invisible to the naked eye without frame-by-frame slow motion replay.

Definitely a stupid rule; if it's their style of putting, all it does is take the concentration of making the putts to worrying about not touching the ground when releasing the disc. Maybe someone would be willing to dive putt just to win a tournament. It would be awesome to see.

Believe in the ones who appreciate your accomplishments; your fans. You are a wonderful example for both the FPO and the entire disc golf world. Your fans love you for your skills, ethics and your humbleness. I wish you years of success in your professional life and in your personal life.

Shout out once more to Latitude 64 for opening up the sport not only with great product but how it is used, but to ask them how they do what it takes.. To have great players contracted to them makes certain they are a "force" to be considered, and enjoyed.

I look at your calm demeanor and what appears to be serene and steady temperament and it is an inspiration. You go to a tournament and execute like a champion every time and seem to do it with humility and an attitude of camaraderie with your fellow competitors. There are only 2 celebrities I'd love to meet and have a good conversation with, and Kristin Tattar is one of them (Mila Kunis would be the second). There is so much wisdom in her words and she has the ability to break down her issues in such a relatable way. I find her really intriguing and almost disarmingly humble, while still remaining this confident woman. Lucky you Jonathan! :) Good luck with everything Kristin. If your favorite player can't win, if someone is better and stronger out on the course, or the envy start to eat you away, just dig deep into your worst self and plant some seeds of ill will. If nothing else "helps" try to take out someone with rumors and accusations. Yeah.. let's do that. If it was me facing those people i would give up. But not you Kristin. You dig down to your inner core and find solutions, strength and determination. What does that do? Well it makes you the number one FPO player in the world. Congratulations to 1000 rating. Congratulations to your marriage and congratulations to have the strongest beliefs in yourself about what you can achieve. I'd like to know more about 11:59 when she mentions putting more spin on the disc and that the men (likely MPOs) are throwing too hard. I'd be curious to see the technique she's specifically using for spin. Has she demonstrated that before? Personally I'd like it more for backhand though.

Critics for the most part are people who do not dare do what they criticize or are unable to achieve. Keep up the good work and overcoming.

There seems to be a group or class of people looking at content who feel empowered to share their negativity with the world. Kristin has been a target for some of these. Paige Pierce has been also. The class and poise Kristin and Paige exhibit to us viewers should be an inspiration to the younger players out there. Do not let those trolls have free rent in your head. We're here to watch the bewauty that is disc golf as exemplified by Kristin, the Euro FPO players and all the rest of the FPO players. As a 73 year-old male I prefer FPO because of the cameraderie between the players, their willingness to cheer for each other and the amazing play. Congratulations for getting married. I am looking forward to the 2025 season. Best of luck and happy holidays. God jul. Häid jõule.

I swear if her putting is cheating, every single men’s player that ever jump putted is cheating…and I look. To accuse this woman of doing things the men do as cheating is just jealousy from catty losers who either don’t know the rules, or don’t care to apply them to every player. Are they calling any other women or men cheaters that jump putt? I doubt it. And that’s hypocrisy, sexism and the terrible loser mentality fostered in people desperate to bring someone at the top of their game down because they can’t come up. It’s just sad.

If you’re talking about her jump putt then it was against the rules. Thats why she stopped jump putting. She talked about it on Tourlife. And it was goobers on Reddit called it out not competitors. Men get called out for exactly the same thing all the time, there’s no sexist narrative here.

Part of the problem is the rules. It’s difficult to judge whether a jump putt is legal or not. Higher profile players get more cameras on them, and the majority of illegal jump putts feel legal to the player. Personally I think for pros expand the circle to c2. It’s impossible to enforce and some players get disproportionate attention despite my belief she hasn’t intentionally cheated during her professional career.

@@bashildy yeah you’re absolutely correct. Yes her jump putt was technically breaking the rules. Her competitors didn’t call it out and it only came under scrutiny because she is a top player who is frequently on camera. One of the less than ideal parts of disc golf as a sport currently.

@@leastselfawarepotassium Yeah, it's rare to get anything called on a card outside of maybe time violations. Hell I play MA-3 and MA-4 and the only times i've seen something called was incorrect by a guy who didn't understand you don't have to be directly behind the marker, that it's a sheet of paper that any body part can touch to produce a legal lie. If we make the circle for professionals C2, then there isn't the gamesmanship of having to ask the card if you are in the circle, nor is there the advantage of being 35 feet out as opposed to 32 in which a 35 jumper/stepper is far easier than a 32 still putt. Everyone would rather have a 50 footer than a 70 foot stepper.

I look forward to supporting the rest of the FPO players. The long, long list of people who show up to play, show up to compete, show up to enjoy what they love, all while being minimalized by the KT hype machine. She's good. That's nice. She's not the only one playing. It's just as bad with 3-4 MPO players. On one hand you can name the same names you hear all year, as if no one else ever throws a good shot, plays a good hole, improves... it's just the chosen few that get attention. Again, yeah, they're good. Cool. I'd rather watch others. If any of the chosen few are playing, you're not going to find coverage of events if it doesn't include one or most of them. Anyone else who finds themselves in the background becomes like a reminder that there's an entire field of other players who actually make up the PDGA, and who fill out the events.
