Stephen started writing this song when he was very young. His mom passed away when he was a kid, so this is about her. A lot of the songs are about his mom.

Only to find out about their tragic passing back in 2019 alongside their tour manager, Trevor. Such a sad story 😢. Their lives got taken way too soon. They really had so much potential to be the next big thing. May they RIP ❤️ 😕.

I remember I immediately fell in love with their music and googled them for more information, only to find out they had sadly passed away two years before: I was really heartbroken as if I had just lost two of my best friends. Everytime I listen to their music I feel both crushed and happy and I can't shake the bittersweet sensation that they left some great songs to us but that we won't be able to find out what else they had in store for their fans... I saw someone said that this song brings back unfamiliar nostalgia, which is a feeling that i look for in a song and love having. Every time i listen to a song i like to imagine scenarios, sometimes i fantasise about writing the unfamiliar memories that come into my mind when i hear songs such as these. They just make me feel joyful and make me think about the vibe that i wanna have ,or feel. This song brings back the best unfamiliar memories and makes me feel so joyful for some reason. Thank you “her’s” for this masterpiece that helps me get through days, cause stuff is not easy atm. Rest in peace. Amen 🙏

I was heartbroken when my cousin introduced me to this Legendary Duo this year. I thought they where alive when he showed me this song, I remember saying “bro you can make a song with them one day” and then that news hit me like I’ve been a fan for years. When you know good music it hurts to know they’ll never be able to make music again. But they’re in a peaceful place. R.I.P. to you boys🕊️💐We’ll see you both on the other side for a peaceful concert.

Rest In Peace..!! Her’s . Recently I discovered this song on one of the YT shorts since then I am hooked on this and just now I accidentally read about their bio on apple music and came to about their unfortunate tragic accident while touring in usa in 2019. This shook me to the core. Such a soulful song this is. An instant classic. They were destined to be the greatest for sure you can tell by their music. I am thankful to you guys for making such an amazing music. Y’all be remembered forever.

Discovered this song on an Instagram reel..there was no going back after that..this song feels like a late autumn afternoon in the early 2000s..it is warm and yet one can feel the arrival of winter..the air is crisp and the breeze is chilly..and yet there is this mellowness..the sunlight is more golden that it is now..and there’s peace..❤️

This is a really beautiful song. I know it's about the loss of a friend or loved one but it resonates differently to me. Every time I hear it I can't help but replay in my head my journey recovering from cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. The isolation, pain and the enormous amount of suffering looming before me were challenging but I was spurred on by the knowledge that one day it would be just a memory in the past. The thing I kept telling myself at the time was "better times there were and will be once more. this too shall pass." This sentiment is what I feel when I hear the words "waiting for what once was". If you're out there feeling this too, it gets better. keep at it.

This song has helped me in so many ways. My great grandmother that I had lived with for all of my life passed back in February. I would give anything to just sit down at the kitchen table with her one more time and just talk. She really was the toughest woman I’ve ever met in my life. She had a really rough life and moved to the United States after WW2. Her husband eventually left one night and never came back. She didn’t speak any English and had two children to take care of. She made it work and raised a family with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. I will also love and cherish every moment I had got to spend with my Nanny❤️

I wouldn't have discovered this song if not for a girl who put me on a total roller coaster with it. Since a falling out with a previous best friend and a breakup, she'd been there for me and I'd been there for her. She lived back in my hometown, and I've been living 50 miles out for college. Every night last semester, we would call and talk for hours. When I visited home for weekends and holidays, we hung out for most of it. For the eclipse, her friends ditched her last minute, so I brought her to my fraternity house to blaze up and watch the eclipse with me and my buddies. I put 250ish miles on my car that day for her, and it was one of my favorite memories I had. She was the first person I ever did friendship bracelets with, we had beads on our Converse for TV Girl (blue + pink and abbreviations of the iconic line from Taking What's Not Yours, it was our things). We healed each other's inner children this summer, and we started getting a little closer than best friends - until she decided to cut me off when I'd realized her jumping into it with me and then ghosting me all while not being over her ex was textbook rebound stuff and vented this concern to friends with full intent of telling her when she was ready to talk again. As it stands now, she hates me, and I really wish I could bring myself to feel the same. As much as I hurt over this, I recognize now she wouldn't have been a great partner for me, and our friendship wouldn't be the same if we ever came back from this. If you somehow find this and somehow recognize me, I hope you figure your stuff out and get better, and I hope you have a nice life.

Now, we are not in each other lives anymore because of all the things he did to me during all these years. I was blinded by the love i had for him, he did so many bad things to me and i accepted it all because I thought he was the man of my life. I had the strenght to leave him a few days ago, and now listening to this song hurt me to the core... I used to listen to this song in my bathroom while dressing up to be pretty for him before our first dates... I wanted our relationship to work so bad and he fucked up all of it.
