Her Van is the BEST No Build Minivan Camper Van Creation I’ve Seen

In today’s video we feature Karla at her no build Dodge Grand caravan, camper van creation, that she calls Tilly. She does not live in this van full-time however which she does spend a good amount of time inside of it and it is her daily driver. She is able to sleep, eat and work inside of this van when she’s out on the road. This new build budget friendly camper. Creation is one of the best I’ve ever seen.

That is brilliant. I was so confused at first because it looked nothing like what you would expect a sink to look like and an oil drain pan is not something the average person sees regularly. But it's a simple, space saving idea.

Your van is the prettiest I have seen. I like your use of fabric to make it homey and cohesive. I have a Sienna and had to take out seats and have a floor built to go over the ugly bulky seat trolleys, but now I’m finally at the fun stage of putting up curtains and home made quilted throw pillows. So sorry about your pup. I have two fur kids who are nine and seven.They fill my life with love and whimsy. Thankyou for sharing your build. Beautiful job!

Enjoyed your set up! 👌 I don't go on trips in my mid size suv but I do spend quite some time at a nearby park with a large lake. I have a kitchen, a stove, a table, a tablet, a beach chair, even a place inside to lounge. One thing I'd like to comment on is van life cooking. I get it people cook inside, but most bring out the butane stove in the elements where any kind of wind blows out the flame. Wind protectors don't do much because winds can come from any direction. What I have is small metal box with a cute little door and a shelf inside. It's about 3 ft. high and fits perfectly in the back where I have handy access to it when I lift my hatchback. I never have to take my stove out of my "kitchen". I can cook in basically any kind of weather no problem. I simply back up suv near some shady trees and cook stealth like because people walking in front can't see what I'm really up, though the banging of pots and pans, and it smelling like a restaurant gives me away to the observant kind of passerby. When I do get a friendly comment I invite them around to see something they weren't expecting! And I'm glad to say it's all good reactions. So keep on keeping on because I know you are enjoying it!

I agree, alot of us don’t have $100k for a van then another $70-$250k laying around for a big custom rig. An in that case might as well just buy a RV instead of waiting. I love how Patrick’s video’s touch on the more realist way or approach. An learning new ideas or DYI projects to make self made rigs more enjoyable & more affordable. The hardest point was figuring a shower system. Then I gave up & just got a gym membership. lol Making a van relaxing & cozy, but still have the necessity’s when camping or stealth camping. Another gem video. Learning from each other is a beautiful gift.

Nice “no build” build. It looks cozy and functional. I like the fact that she put into thought that the van some day will no longer be able to run and drive. And not worth doing any expensive repairs. You just pull everything out in like 5, 10 or 15 minutes or how long it may take pretty easy I take and install it in a new van. Plus it’s pretty stealthy

I have used gutter guards for ventilation and they work pretty well. Mine are whites they are pretty obvious, but I used them in a campground. I really like the oil pan sink idea.

I bought brown ones. White was the other option at my stores here. I’ll spray paint it black like she did too. I figured if they get scratched the brown will be less noticeable than white.

Fell in love with tiny living from tiny homes.....which for me includes vanlife. To me it means minimalism.....so THIS is my favorite. All the others I've seen...seem claustrophobic to me....alot of stuff, not too much(for that person) but still alot. This is spacious and still has everything she needs and WANTS. I love it. At my age I want standing height...so maybe a uhaul type van or whatever, but this is a great (if not the best)1st time intro to vanlife. Period.....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Tiny homes were my gateway too! Yes, space is key for me so that factored a lot into my design. It's good you know you'd need standing height, and I think you could still apply some of the same principles to your space. It's all about building something based on what's most important to you. I'm so glad you enjoyed my little build, thank you!! :)

This is great - I have a 2009 Sienna, and am thinking of orienting my bed the same way (where I look to the rear, and the bed can come up at the head to recline). So, this was really helpful to see it inaction! (I will just have kitchen/sink et al in the back, as I need room for the pitbull to come in/out that side door 😊). It’s all about the 🐶.
